If you still have a VCR for some reason, I find that old movies are wonderfully affordable when you buy them on cassette. The used book store around here usually has some.

Otherwise, I can't imagine Aladdin wouldn't be on Netflix, though it might not be on Instant Watch.

@thunderthighs: Thanks but it's still $20. I'll use that site in the future for other movies. I just can't see spending 2006 prices on a DVD.

The 20th Anniversary edition Blu-Ray/DVD combo is going to be released this year. I'd rather pay full price for that than to get just the DVD version for almost the same price.

@omnichad: Nice, such a good solid movie.

Try ebay if you don't mind a used DVD. And the bidding war. Or you can try your local library. Even if they don't have it in stock, most libraries participate in an exchange program with other libraries across the country. Granted you won't own it, but your kids will still get to watch it, and it's free!

@omnichad: Thanks for the info! We don't have a Blu-ray player but just seeing the remasters on DVD looks amazing to me. I found the recent DVD version of The Lion King to be stunningly good looking when played through my up converting DVD player..

Just got the kids some disney blurays and dvd's pretty cheap at a blockbuster store that is closing. $6.99 for used blu ray or dvd, which for DISNEY movies is a great price
