What "luxury" items do you splurge on that's worth it to you?
Seeing discussions about Keurig machines, which I do consider a luxury item, has me wondering what other items people splurge on. I know "luxury" is subjective but I'm thinking in terms of things that others would be like "oh, you fancy now huh?" For example, I myself am starting to spend more money on high-end skin creams because I think it's worth the money.

I like Oakley sunglasses, that's probably the only "designer" item I buy.
I also get mostly top-notch parts when I build a new computer. I only do it every 3-4 years, I don't want the stuff to get outdated to quickly.
i just bought a set of professional grade annodized pans. i have always went the extra money for dove bodywash and shampoo.
i believe in saving up for an extra month or two to get the higher grade stuff because in the end you spend less just buying the better once than buying the low end then replacing it later.
but then too, i remember not too long ago when the kraft blue box mac and cheese was a splurge.
Generally, I splurge on good tea from Teavana (which is still much cheaper than buying coffee out everyday). For a one time splurge, I also recently went for a very expensive but high quality leather bag. Food wise, I splurge on nice things like good olive oil and jars of sundried tomatoes, because it encourages me to cook more fresh dishes.
I also buy dove soap, but consider that kind of essential than splurge. Other soap makes me itch o.o
This is of course in addition to what the average American would probably consider "splurging" on nice electronics :) But among us wooters, I'm probably in the norm.
@magicwuff: The most expensive pair of sunglasses I own is $15 from American Eagle. Most of the ones I have are anywhere from $1 - $5 from dollar stores or F21. They all seem to do the job just fine so I wonder, do the expensive ones really make a difference?
Also, 2 mentions of Dove! Funny cuz I recently started buying Dove's moisturizing/exfoliating bar soap after getting sick of having dry skin from the Dial/Zest that my guy buys. He only buys it cuz it's cheap. I guess Dove soap is a luxury. When I was a kid, we just bought whatever was on sale, usually generic store brand soap or the super harsh Dial.
Over the last year, it appears to be live concerts. Definitely qualifies as a luxury item, I think. If we're talking tangible items, I'd probably have to go with shoes.
I also believe in saving up to get the higher grade stuff and have done a lot of that in recent years too.
edited: Now I'm wondering if I got an expensive pair of sunglasses if I'd take care of them more... I usually have such bad luck with the cheap ones getting lost/falling apart/etc.
I enjoy a good cigar and a glass of Elijah Craig 18 year old bourbon every once in a while.
Upgrades for my PC every 18 months or so. and not the cheap stuff. I will drop around 500 or so around tax time one year, and then the following year another 500 around my birthday. Keeps me up to date. I don't personally consider it luxury, but most people tell me it is.
Good dish washer detergent finish tabs (it helps whe i get info from deals.woot.) as well as playing cards (copags really last a long time)
i also splurge on the nicer grocery items such as blue and feta cheeses, and some great hot sauces.
gillette fusion razors.
schick hydro 5/3 are just uncomfortable on my face ('razor burn'), and disposables just slice up my face.
then again, I usually get the gillettes super cheap through couponing anyway, so it's not really a "splurge".
Pocket Coffee - dark chocolate w/a liquid espresso filling. Nothing comparable. Huge splurges - jewelry & trips to Europe. Both of those are diminishing (read: gone) because I had to replace my roof at $30,000. <---yes, there are 4 zeros there. SOB
ipad... once the 3 comes out.
@inkycatz: That works for me! Never more than about $100 and I always have them. As far as quality in more expensive glasses, I agree with the first comment, Oakley is awesome. Durable frames and high quality lenses. Cheap sunglasses are exactly that once you've tried on some nice polarized Oakleys.
I also go big on Mountain Bikes (2-3k every 2 years or so) and ski gear.
Since anything beyond the basic necessity can be considered a luxury, at $15/each, Woot shirts ... which I suppose is the truth compared to the sub-0.20 price of the t-shirts I get from thrift shop "rag bags", most of which are not in rag condition.
Kitchen knives. I don't have one brand that I buy exclusively, but if I see a good price on a really nice knife that I don't already have I'm always very tempted to buy it.

I constantly break/lose my sunglasses or eyeglasses which is a reason why I buy the cheap ones also. I would hope that having a $100+ pair of glasses would lead to me taking better care of it, but I don't think so.
My makeup. I switched to clinique and/or Lancome. They don't make me break out and if you pay attention, you score an entire makeup set for the price of some foundation.
Newly - Kitchen knives. If the Kai Tan's are this awesome, I couldn't even imagine the truly high end knives.
No items - services. I have my house cleaned and I go to a carwash that does detailing.
Organic Local Milk - My kids just don't need the extra growth hormones. (We're not organo-nuts but here and there we do try to buy local and organic. Local being the more important of the two)
Charmin Ultra Soft. Life is too short for scratchy toilet paper.
I live alone so I treat myself quite a lot. I buy the best quality chocolate I can find, and I order tea online (usually Mighty Leaf). I buy high quality olive oil and good cuts of steak and salmon, because I am only shopping for one and I'd rather have a small portion of something really nice than a large portion of lower end stuff.
