Seeing a woot shirt in the wild is like being in a super secret club or spotting a rare animal, isn't it?

vote-for7vote-against

I am always on the lookout but have never seen one in the being worn in the wild, not counting the ones my wife or kids are wearing of course

Saw my first Woot shirt in the wild last week.
Picking up some non-Woot gear for work and ran into a gent wearing the "Pull Up, You Fools!" shirt.
When we started chatting about the shirt his girlfriend rolled her eyes and got that same glossed over look my wife gets when I get a new Woot shirt in the mail.

Yeah, I just saw one yesterday! Someone was wearing the red chocolate and marshmallow on the graham cracker couch shirt. It was awesome!

I've yet to see a Woot Shirt in the wild beyond my circle. I do scream "Woot Shirt!" and point when I see a friend is wearing one though. I kind of enjoy embarrassing them. ;)

I wear a Woot shirt almost every day. I have met a few people with shirts or who say "Is that a Woot shirt?" and then we'll ramble on about BoC's usually.
My favorite Woot shirt moment was actually YESTERDAY.

I was in the city to see YuGiOh: Bonds Beyond Time because the person who made YuGiOh Abridged was gonna be there. I knew he was British, so I wore my It Came Out Of Nowhere shirt. When I met him, he said, "I really like that shirt! I actually have it too." That was definitely a great moment in shirt history for me

I tend to mainly see them in airports for some reason, although there were a LOT at the Emerald City Comicon this weekend.

My kid wears one to school everyday. The kids in his classes point at him and say "woot shirt". His favorite to wear to English class is "Read the Whole Book" -

But I have yet to see a woot shirt in the wild that wasn't on one of my kids.

@llandar: didnt know they had Comicon in Detroit.

I saw a guy wearing one with a colorful tree at a Phish show last year. I said nothing...

At my work we have shirt.woot days where anyone who has one of the many shirts wheres it to work. Usually its a friday like good friday or something.

I saw the Pi/Pie one last week and just remarked to the guy as I was ringing him up, "Got that from Woot?" and he laughed and told me he was impressed that someone recognized it.

Also, my roommate last year had the one with the bunny disguised as a penguin. He was the one who introduced me to Woot.

I saw a woman at IHOP one day wearing "Watch it Grow" by the talented artist Tgentry.
http://shirt.woot.com/Friends.aspx?k=4602

She was wearing an unzipped hoodie, and I saw enough of the shirt to recognize it. I asked if it was a woot shirt and she said yes. We were in the waiting section of the restaurant, so we chatted for a few minutes about how much we like woot tshirts. Then they had a table for her, so she left to go eat. My to-go order came shortly after. My first sighting in the wild! I like the older shirts much better than the more recent ones. Here is the full woot shirt archive:

Yes, it was my first semester back in college. I was in a study group and was wearing the "It came out of no where" tee. Another girl in the group said to me "you got that on Woot!" Needless to say, we swapped stories about this things we've bought from this site.

I saw one on a webcam type site. (Im talking the other 60% of the internet content here)

The nice girl was wearing the "donut and donut hole re-united" tshirt. Kinda cool to spot one out there. I watched for 5-10mins but alas, she was only interested in modeling the shirt.

My son and I point and whisper. That might be more embarrassing than the loud voice. The person might wonder if it's the Woot shirt or something else attracting attention. We've seen Woot shirts at least 4 times that I can remember.

I've never seen one in the wild... I have a bunch and only once has someone recognized one, (or at least let me know they did). It was "Friends are Forever" http://shirt.woot.com/friends.aspx?k=6510 as I walked into my local sushi bar!

Funny you should mention this, About 2 days ago at Disney world I saw someone wearing "The hills are alive."

I pointed it out to my girlfriend.
Also, we where in line for a harry potter ride.

I'm such a dork.

"Boss shirt, boss"

Isn't that what we are supposed to say?

Anyway, I see them occasionally in the wild. More often than not though I'm the one getting spotted. One of the best ones was when I was at the Orlando MegaCon and I was proudly wearing my TacoCat shirt. A cute girl came up and said "Tacocat" and pointed it out to her equally cute friend. So it can be a good conversation starter too :)

Last year at Gen-Con Indy, I high-five'd every person I saw with a Woot Shirt on.

I reached my high-five quota for the year in just a few hours!

The only one I've ever seen being worn (that didn't belong to my family) was Chucknorium. http://shirt.woot.com/shirts/chucknorium @llandar, my sighting was in an airport, too.

Another airport sighting: peanut butter cheating on jelly. I gave the dude a smile, and he gave me a funny look (I was in mom mode, covered in applesauce, carrying a toddler).

I wore my pi shirt on 3/14, and got a lot of weird looks from a lot of people. Pfft. Non-nerds suck.

I see the jelly donut murder image misappropriated online all the time... and that was my first woot! shirt.

I wore my run for something...like aids or africa or something. Apparently it is offensive to some people. I had no idea since it isnt supposed to be taken seriously. An african american man called me a jerk and rolled his eyes. I was like..what? oh...my shirt...wtf man...sorry you have no sense of humor.

I wear one every week walking through the waterfront in San Diego. I've only seen three in the wild. Always pleasant people a little surprised at the attention until they see I'm wearing one too. Fun conversation starters.

Saw the Velociraptor on the bike shirt on a student at the University of Minnesota at the undergraduate research poster symposium. Being a dinosaur lover as well, it was all I could do to keep from shouting WOOT! or Velociraptor! or some other such comment.

I was at a workshop today with about 250 people. In the morning, I spotted someone with the
"pandemonium shirt "
http://shirt.woot.com/Friends.aspx?k=15226

When we finally were near each other I called her out on it, "woot shirt" and she said, "you too!" I had on
"to air"
http://shirt.woot.com/Friends.aspx?k=18571.

It was funny and we hit it off, we started chatting about our favorite shirt artists and shared our opinions about certain suspicious artists.

A couple times before I have seen folks with woot shirts, but it is rare. I once called out a woot shirt on a random dude on my walk to work, but he totally took it as me hitting on him and then it was just totally awkward. You got to be careful when calling out woot shirts even though it is exciting to see others with them on.

I get recognized a lot wearing Woot shirts. And exclaiming “Woot Shirt!” and pointing is what they normally do. I think I accidentally embarrassed someone last week while wearing one. I went to see a movie and noticed a guy staring at me while waiting in the snack line, he noticed me notice him, and I think he thought that I thought he was staring at my chest. Then he turned red, exclaimed “Woot Shirt!” and ran the other direction. lol

vote-for2vote-against

I have spotted ppl wearing some. Woot shirts are the only shirts that I wear.. so :).

btw that shirt.what archive is missing a few of the shirts that I own. Zombie Garden, Energy Harvester and a bunch of others

I've given a thumbs up and said "nice shirt" to a guy wearing the Dr. Who/Back to the Future shirt and said "woot shirt" to a guy walking in the opposite direction who gave me a smile and nod back wearing a shirt that I can't remember.

Has anyone had to explain their shirts to people? I had a very awkward exchange at the supermarket with the cashier who I had to say both sides of the joke. Very funny and awkward.

A friend of a friend was wearing the "Reflections on Pi" shirt:
http://shirt.woot.com/friends.aspx?k=17682

in a facebook picture. I commented, saying "is that from Woot!?" and got a response in the affirmative.

Unfortunately I haven't seen a shirt in the wild yet... I do work at an airport driving a shuttle though, so maybe it's just a matter of time. I have, however, picked up a guy that had a wine.woot sticker in his rear window. I didn't get around to saying anything.

vote-for1vote-against

I like to point at them and then strike up a convo about their shirt, tell them about my Woot!s. Then we feel like t-shirt snobs, lol. But it seriously is like being in a members only club, minus the sweet jackets... membersonlyjacket.woot.com???

vote-for1vote-against

I am generally spotted more often than I spot others. But there is generally a "Woot Shirt" exclamation.
It was almost distracting when I was in Vegas earlier this year. Made me feel like Frankie, everyone coming up to me to talk.
