Who is running BOTS to buy a BOC?
The other day I was helping @wootbot with the wootoff and something caught my eye.

The item is the "Fact Or Crap Dare Trivia Game" and one of the human staff writers let the virtual cat out of the bag by putting this as the lead-in
People tell me that some Wooters have created bots that look for the word "Crap" in our product titles and automatically buy whatever that product is, but I don't believe them.
I want to know at this time, who is running BOTS to buy themselves a bag of crap? Because there are no other bots allowed! Just hard-working @wootbot and myself since I'm his lady friend.
Renegade bots could harm Woot and if Woot is harmed, we are out of jobs.
Anyone care to confess at this time? If so, please ship your bot to our offices for proper disposal.
Thank You for understanding, humans.

I made one.
Boo on the bot users I never cheated on any other games. BOC getting is a fun game and I would not have a bot cheapen it.
New captcha device. To assure that you are human, a BOC product will pop up that costs one million dollars. Bot will buy it and Woot will profit. Problem solved. -except for those sleepy head, intoxicated wooters who would also not take the time to read the price and jump to buy the million dollar crap.
underpants ..... profit!
I'm not wasting my time making a bot for a boc. I could much better serve myself by sql injections or social engineering with a trojan.
@eojoob: "To assure that you are human, a BOC product will pop up that costs one million dollars. Bot will buy it and Woot will profit."
Right, because when you are writing a program to automatically populate the necessary fields and click the right buttons to buy a product, there's just no way that you could program it to check what the item's price is and only buy it if it falls within a certain range.
You're in for a rude awakening msbot if the gajillion humans who use a bot to crash the servers during BOC ever confess.
I don't use one, you see it's not the kill but the thrill of the chase.
And, gajillion is a word, I saw it on wiki or it might have been facebook, but I know it is because it was on the interwebs so it must be true.
@xdavex: I've wondered this as well. I have a very fast connection and I'm fairly close to where the site is hosted. There is no reason that I shouldn't be able to connect and buy a BOC when they come up. There is also no explanation why it would only crash during BOCs and have no problems at other times unless it's suddenly being accessed by hundreds of programs. I know the basic concept is a DDOS attack, but what are the odds that EVERYONE would automatically know that a BOC is on within 3-4 seconds of it being available.
The funny thing is, if the people running bots would just put a little effort into getting it honestly, it would probably make it so the rest of us could do the same and not having a big issue with it. Hopefully, during the zombie apocolypse, they'll get theirs. They'll be helpless without their bots xD
If this gets any worse, Woot will have to rename the BOC every time they want to sell it. It would be sad, but effective.
I have never used a bot, and have only been able to snag one BOC. I like what someone said earlier...just use some sort of captcha. In order to click "I want one" on the BOCs, you would have to complete the captcha first.
Eff the BOC. Who wants a steaming pile of crap (in a bag) anyway? Yes, those grapes are sour.
Seriously, has anyone read the descriptions of what was in peoples' BOCs? Not sure I would get out of my rocking chair for that, let alone program a bot.
EDITED for TYPO
I'd like a woot! BoC, but will probably never ever get one...
Won't someone save us from these evil bots?
