Are any of your friends Woot colleagues?
I thought I was the only Wooter in the neighborhood at one time. Many of my friends and neighborhood acquaintances shop at the normal storefront, those well-known websites, big box stores and some sites unearthed via internet searches. When I say try Woot some do, I get a call and have to guide them. Most snap up their target item but don’t return because they don’t want to take the time to discriminate the various purchase modes and other experiences Woot provides. But, some friends I discover are Wooters and some of the ‘at first naïve’ become Wooters. I’ve noticed that Woot has been a new bond amongst us and our experiences and shared knowledge base serve our participation and enjoyment. When you find out someone you know is a Wooter or becomes so has your relationship changed and, if yes, how? And, what was the best ‘thing’ you learned from your Wootlleaguer? Has another Wooter become a new friend?
Nope, but I get people who recognize my shirts, so there's a human connection.
most of the guys in my IT department are wooters. We talk about woot-offs and BoC's, although we haven't talked about this one since this is a very hectic time at work.
by my count, i've turned at least 12 people into full-on wooters and 1 more has made at least 1 purchase at woot. i don't know that it's changed my relationship with them, but it is fun to talk about items someone is considering and of course, the venerable BOC.
I turned my next-door neighbor into a wooter. Mind you, she hasn't touched shirt since she bought an AA WL and found out that it fit her dog.
Yes, I have a good friend that is a wooter. It hasn't changed anything except for the fact that we talk about woot and he brags about buying bags of crap when I can't haha
I got my IT guy here at work on it. He doesn't post here but he buys from the Woot! sites.
I get a lot of "Oh you work there?! That's neat I... (insert longwinded speech of what a fan they are and stuff they have bought)"
Wooters, they're everywhere, yo.
@carl669: I have the same experience. With some of the new Wooters, we trade advice on products, especially tech and wine stuff. We also swap when doable because of the common interest.
