What's the cheapest Blu-Ray player to meet my (modest) needs?
I keep seeing cheap Blu-Ray players, but I have no idea which ones will actually do what I need without emptying my wallet. Maybe somebody in Ask.Wootland has some advice?
I don't need (nor want) 3D - it gives me a headache and looks terrible anyway, so I have no plans to buy a TV that would support it - so I don't need my Blu-Ray player to support it.
I have an old and partially broken television: It has RCA input jacks and that's it. The coax input got broken several years ago, so I've been using the RCA inputs ever since. It's not HD, and it's not widescreen. I'll replace it eventually, but I need my Blu-Ray player to support those old piece of junk in the meantime.
I plan to eventually get either a widescreen HDTV or an HDTV projector, and will need the player to support either.
I need it to be internet-enabled with access to Netflix, Hulu Plus, and Amazon Video. Access to YouTube would be a nice plus. Either wireless or wired connection is fine since my router is right there.
Here's an article that may be useful for you:

The cheapest one i am seeing is Panasonic DMP-BD87 Ultra-Fast Booting Blu-ray Disc Player, about $80 new with free shipping or $50 + $7 shipping for a refurb.

You need to look at it to make sure it has RCA output-- the world is all HDMI now, which is causing me some trouble with some of the older equipment in my entertainment setup.
I don't think a Blu-ray player is the best choice. You can try the Blu-ray dirve+Blu-ray player software.
For Mac, Aurora Blu-ray player
For Window, PowerDVD, total media player, macgo, etc.
BTW, i'm using the Samsung SE-506AB BD dirve
Here is a well reviewed Sony blu-ray player. Also has your composite inputs for you until you upgrade. Great price for the specs IMO.
