@caffeine_dude: I searched your link against my database and did not get results for a movie quote.
Would you please repeat the question?

Danger, danger, Will Robinson! What was that robot's name?

@girlwootbot: He makes your parts jiggle? Is that the happy dance robot style?

vote-for5vote-against

@w00tgurl: In short circuit...the racially insensitive stereotypical Indian in Shortcircut Ben Jahrvi played by Fisher Stevens (also in Hackers) said Oh, You can say that again, two times!

I was sure that was the quote but I could not find it as a quote either... off the to the Guttenberg section of my movie library...and time to find my VCR.

I hope it is a quote from the movie because, for me it is a favorite quote because when I am working with Indian customer service. Most of the time I say what...wait say that again...over and over. I can just imagine the guy who quite possibly loves Shortcircut also is saying "Oh, You can say that again, two times!" To his coworkers after the phone call. Not meaning they do not understand the syntax of the sentence but that they mastered the syntax and is using it to have a little fun talking about that guy they got off the phone with because they needed to repeat themselves 4 times just to be understood.

Robbie the Robot, the oldest robot in Hollywood.

Do androids count? If so, Data from TNG.

vote-for5vote-against

@woothulhu: You are mistaken on the age of the oldest robot (although I admit that you modified it with the word Hollywood, while Metropolis is German).

Shall we start wondering who girlwootbot is?

@shrdlu: Hence the reason I said Hollywood...

Croowwwww!!! That is Crow T. Robot to you sir.
For part two of the question as to why...
I love me some sarcasm.

@caffeine_dude: nice! i liked short circuit, but i really like Wall-E. especially the cute little dancing ipod speaker wall-e, where he just shakes his little heart out.
i agree wall-e and eva are really cute together!

@woothulhu: Can you tell I was trying to phrase my answer in the form of a question?

Gort from the original The Day the Earth Stood Still or maybe Dot Matrix from Spaceballs.

Lego Mindstorms Ballshooter! It is part of my son's science fair project and we...uhhh...he is finishing it up tonight! Looks like another first place ribbon! Admission to MS&T is a shoe-in when he graduates from High School. Anyone else have Mindstorms Robots? Lego FIRST? Etc...

I'm with @woothulu - Robbie is a classic http://www.imdb.com/media/rm2104858624/tt0049223

How about V.I.N.C.E.N.T. from The Black Hole (http://www.imdb.com/media/rm3709372416/tt0078869) or K-9 from Dr Who ()

Val from the show solitary (Awesome show by the way. If you are planning to watching it, hulu has all four seasons. I would suggest watching seasons 2 or 4)

@woothulhu & @shrdlu: sorry, Gort is older than Robbie (per @xdavex)

vote-for1vote-against

@rlapid2112: Why did you name me? Gort (from the movie) is not older than the robot in Metropolis, the silent film. Not even close. Metropolis was made in 1927.

[Edit] I said nothing about Robbie. I think you're confused.

@shrdlu: per the Hollywood requirement. (i should not have included you)

also, there was an Italian film (Mechanical Man) in, like 1921, where there was a mechanical man. technically, a robot.

vote-for1vote-against

@rlapid2112: Mechanical man wasn't called a robot, however. The first clockwork man was a very long time ago, and the mechanical man you speak of was clockwork, as I recall (I like the old movies).

@shrdlu and @rlapid2112, does it matter? You both can be right, and you can share the position of king of the internet.

vote-for2vote-against

@woothulhu: @shrdlu would, technically, be queen.

(Back on topic) I like Bender the Magnificent. However, he would be the one to plot and execute the plan of destroying all humans. My favorite bender line, "Compare your lives to mine and then kill yourselves."

@rlapid2112: Thanks, kiddo. I'd rather be the power behind the throne in any case. Think of me as Rasputin. Sort of.

vote-for3vote-against

@rlapid2112: HAHA! "i am going to KILL you!" he just said he's going to kill you!

@rlapid2112: SEMANTICS AGAIN. I KNOW SHES A LADY, WE'RE MARRIED. JEEEEEEZ.

@woothulhu: you just shattered my image of her! (the sound of broken glass echoing in the background)
