We won't be doing anything unusual. We try to recycle as much as possible, and The Spouse maintains a compost pile in the back yard.

Does getting a new septic tank and drain field count?

Yes, I will be on Earth that day...or at least I hope to be.

I might eat some vegetables.

Its supposed to pour rain all afternoon :-/ So I guess we'll have our Earth Day tomorrow. We've already started our vegetable garden but we'll be adding flowers and fruit bushes around the yard this week. We're pretty good at recycling and all that. My wife is working toward a PhD in Geo science and keeps us on top of the latest ways to save the Earth.

@nmchapma: Maybe you can ask her for some ideas to share w/ the rest of us ? Simple everyday ways to make a difference that go beyond the usually recycling kind of thing. Thanks !

@ceagee: I'll ask her, she really loves the education side of her work.

I know her well enough to tell you the first thing she'll say. It's simple and very easy.

Keep reusable bags in your car for small stops by the grocery store or walmart or drugstore of where ever you go. Its better for the environment and easier for you to transport. Also when you do have to use plastic bags from stores remember that in most places they are recyclable; and if your pick up service won't take them most grocery stores have a place for you to recycle them.
