Would it be wrong to claim a HP Touchpad deal on a site I don't like just to watch the mayhem?
do you mean lie and say there is a deal when there isn't? If so, are you asking if lying is okay? If that is what you are asking, then I think you should re-evaluate your decisions thoroughly before taking action
It is not only wrong, it would be a crime that you could get arrested and prosecuted for.
Don't do it. There's evidence online of your intent.
Basically, you are contemplating a DDoS attack on a website you don't like by posting a message about it on a public forum of a website that requires you to login and records your IP address. Is that about the gist of it?
You be trollin' mon?
You wouldn't steal a handbag!
You wouldn't steal a car!
You wouldn't steal a baby!
You wouldn't shoot a policeman! And then steal his helmet!
You wouldn't go to the toilet in his helmet! And then send it to the policeman's grieving widow. And then steal it again!
It's a theoretical ethical question. I mean is socially engineering a DDoS attack (hey click this) the same ethically or under the law as a LOIC attack? Doing it is not my style but contemplating is.
@billux: "Should I lie solely to cause chaos?" is not a "theoretical ethical question". There is no positive gain from it, and it damages other people. Why am I even answering this? Gah!
Until it's done it's theoretical. Who knows maybe it's a site that has instructions on how to torture kittens.
@billux: Theoretical is only one part of theoretical ethical question. Telling me Zombie Stalin created this site doesn't really change anything.
Also everyone: HP Touchpads are back in stock at Howtotorturekittens.com! Hurry and get yours before they are gone!
@shadowhunter312: lmao -- I'm going to launch that website now
@capguncowboy: Let me know when it launches! I really hope at least one way to torture involves using inane philosophical questions to drive them to insanity.
@billux: watch out, the holier than thou crowd is out in full force. They must have taken a break from reading their bible to respond to you.
@iggz: There is only one thing that makes me break my morals...a Klondike Bar. I'd do anything for one of those.
I don't know if it'd be morally wrong...depends on the exact nature of the site you don't like ;-) But...I think people would figure out pretty fast that they don't have what you claim, vote the deal down, and the problem solves itself.
@shadowhunter312: I'd do anything for love, but I won't do that.
@inshadows: That is real catchy. I mean, I am just thinking out loud here, maybe you could like put it to music and have a hit song.
Nah, never mind, wouldn't work.
