Mine is also processing, but I don't think I got it. :(

I'm not sure which BoC version I like better, this one is a thousand times more frustrating I think.

While I normally stray from gloating, YES, I did finally get a bag. After almost a grand total of 5 years of attempting, I was finally able to grab one. Can't help but feel proud of myself for successfully getting one after they took my suggestion (or I can at least believe) and changed the BOC system for this woot-off :)

@studerc: I thank you for your suggestion. I've been on woot for 7 years now, and this is the first one for me. Now to move on to the next thing on the wooter list: #1 on the deals.woot list.

The count is down to 1946 so I'm thinking there will be at least one more before this is over.... unless the rest are for an April Fool's Day event...

I'm pretty well tired of the game. Until Woot gets its servers (or whatever) fixed so the system actually works, I think I'm going to stand down from the BOC craziness.

And I really, really don't like a multi-BOC day with a limit of 300, so small it's almost totally not worth competing for, and yet so busy that the system still breaks.

The problem really isn't woot's servers but rather the connection between your computer and their servers (ie. the internet) which is unable to deal with the sudden onslaught of hundreds of thousands if not millions of hits per second when the normal rate is probably in the hundreds to a few thousand hits per second.

While woot and their service providers could build up their systems to handle the increased traffic, it would cost hundreds of times as much and sit idle about 99.9% of the time (I'm basing this on 20 BoC a year that each take 30 minutes to sell out). It makes absolutely no sense for woot to waste that kind of money for a gimmick.

Besides, getting a BoC isn't that hard... it mostly requires a bit of timing, and a lot of persistence. (Timing is easy to improve using any of the free tools like mywoot.net; persistence means continuing to hit F5 when your browser times out or you get a white screen or a 503 error until the next item is up on the woot site.)

@baqui63: I've gotten three BOCs in the past, two of which were literally crap stuff. I'd decided to forego the challenge this time around as I had other priorities to attend to, and it was only when mywoot signaled there was another BOC available. I'm old and cranky when it comes to pounding on an F5 key 123 times for a message that says the system is still processing an order and then advises my order was declined.

The glow is dimished, most of the fun is gone. But who knows? The dang things are addictive and I'll probably end up trying again for the next round.

You have to vote up more before you can vote down.

Don't get us wrong. Negativity has its place. And downvotes are just as essential as upvotes when it comes to making Deals.Woot a useful place to find deals.

But when your votes lean so heavily toward the dark side, we have to wonder. Go vote up a few things. Accentuate the positive for a little while. It'll do you some good, and it'll do the site some good, too. Then you can get back to dealing out the smackdowns, OK?
