What happens when you return a gift to Amazon?
My brother sent me a christmas gift through Amazon, but I already have it. Does the return amount get sent back to him, or to me? I couldn't find any info on the site, and though I have made returns to Amazon in the past, I have never returned a gift. Any input would be greatly appreciated!

I think if you return it on Christmas an angel loses it's wings. (Sorry, I don't know the actual answer)
Write Amazon's customer service (or call them if there's a phone number) and ask them.

"Amazon Gift returns are confidential.
The online Returns Center allows gift recipients to return items they received as a gift even if the order was not marked as a gift when it was purchased. The type of refund or credit you receive depends on how the gift was purchased and how it's returned."
And here's the Returns Center: http://www.amazon.com/gp/css/returns/homepage.html/ref=hp_navbox_giftreturns_button
@llamabox: thanks for the link
i love amazon, usually the best prices, great CS, and an all around simple to handle company... just wish they used paypal, not that they ever would since ebay owns it, but it would make life simpler.
@llamabox: on my particular return, it only gave me an option for a refund, not for a gift card. I will have to call tomorrow. Thanks for the info!
@claudicina: Good luck with you call!
