Have you noticed the way you type your ScReEn nAmE when you log in is the way it appears up top?

I never noticed this until today and now I'm tripping out. I kind of noticed it sometimes in all lower case and sometimes CowboyDann. It just clicked right now that it all depends on how you typed it when you sign in. I've logged in and logged out 3 or 4 times changing the case sensativity on my name :P My header currently is cOwbOyDann. I can't believe I've been on woot for 4 months and never realized this.

This isn't really a good question... more of a look how slow I am thread.

the data displayed up top is stored on your local machine in a cookie, which allows the front page to be sent cached from the server. historically, this allowed for big efficiency gains on woot-off, boc, etc.

Wahh! It didn't work for me! I logged out, logged in by typing my name with various caps, and it still shows as all lower case.

Geez, why so negative?

You have to vote up more before you can vote down.

Don't get us wrong. Negativity has its place. And downvotes are just as essential as upvotes when it comes to making Deals.Woot a useful place to find deals.

But when your votes lean so heavily toward the dark side, we have to wonder. Go vote up a few things. Accentuate the positive for a little while. It'll do you some good, and it'll do the site some good, too. Then you can get back to dealing out the smackdowns, OK?
