I think I'm infected too. I'm trying to wait for the Black Friday prices to get a couple of large capacity drives. If I can hold off that long!

vote-for7vote-against

I certainly do. I still have an 8gb sitting around in the package. I gave one to my dad for his job. And, two to my mom. Funny. I don't think I've ever used mine much. Oh well, going to buy more, lol!~

i am this way too. but not with usb drives. perhaps a rephrase: not with JUST usb drives. i do it with microsd cards, and lots of the smallish electronics that use to be SO expensive, but now aren't.

I feel that way, but I bet if I acted on the impulse they'd start disappearing the same way pacifiers do around here. Can't win for trying.

vote-for4vote-against

So far I've not bought any but it's getting more difficult.

I suspect the infection is taking over - Resistance is Futile.

Okay....I'm beginning to see a pattern here. I think we are all infected with the "find the best deals and buy them no matter what" virus!!!! We've all been hanging out here, and it seems to be spreading quickly.....

Must be highly contagious.

I am not only infected...I am a carrier. And so is anyone else that keeps posting them here!!!

My infection is also microSD card more than USB.

In the last 2 months I've picked up (2) 8GB, (1) 16gb, (1) 32 GB and (1) 64GB flash drives. I've also bought a microSD 32GB and (2) SD 16GB cards. And I needed a separate storage device for them so they don't get lost.

I'm ashamed of the things I may have done while under the influence of my Keurig B60 with Emeril's Big, Easy Bold K-Cups that I bought on sale at Kohl's for 30% off with free shipping and cash back.

Me too! I have a 16gb and a 32gb still in their packaging right here. Plus another 8gb and 16gb I actually use. Plus I bought two more 16gb ones for my neighbor. This is all in the last two months as well.

Oy.

I haven't bought any yet, although I'd like a 16 GB one. Seeing the prices go down just makes me wait for an even better deal ...

Feel free to send me a USB if you're not using yours!

vote-for2vote-against

I used to feel that way, but I resist buying any unless I have an immediate need. If you won't use it within the same week you buy it you can almost guarantee there will be a better deal before you get it out of the package.

I have been able to hold off for now, but had to buy a 4 gb earlier today from the Best But DOTD to replace a 4gb drive I bricked yesterday.

I think it is common because I bought my first flash drives at the cashiers impulse purchase trays. At Walgreens.

vote-for2vote-against

Every time you see a flash drive for a "great" price, that price is lower a few months later. That's what keeps me from buying another one aside from the one I already have.

Please don't hate me for saying so, but I've managed to quit buying them, though I'm still tempted. I have five of them in front of me right now, the largest being a 16GB. Since I have never used more than half a 16GB I can't imagine using a larger memory stick. So I'm using the money I save to get hooked on other gadgets I don't need. :)

@fishcandy: torrent Homeland in 1080p or all Friends seasons -- 240 GB

Apparently you are not the only one, but so far I am holding out for an even better price....keywords are so and far. :)

Definitely am infected, both with the USB & microSD card strains. Toward the end of the year I take stock and think: well, any that haven't been opened will be super for xmas stockings! (And, the fact is, everyone loves these little things in their stockings. Used to be Sansa clips too. No longer. sigh)

all the recent deals at staples means I've got quite a few laying around. Mostly 4gb that were free after staples rewards. Lately I've picked up two 16GB drives for around $8 at staples too. Can't have enough of these things

I keep buying memory sticks too I think it it somehow making up for the high price for the Hard Drives still. The flooding in thailand has been milked to death on the price gouging with hard drives, but it looks like they are may starting to come down a little.

I've got 220G in various size/type dongles that I have dangling from my breast cancer awareness, ("I <3 b00bies") lanyard. I think it's a Freudian thing but I'm not clear how bad that is.
