I bought the tri ply set from costco about a month ago for $149.99. We have used the sauce pans and skillets. Cooks very well, but they leave discoloration after washing. BKF takes care of the problem, but using BKF after every use is a little pain in the neck. I don't know if the MCP-12N is any better. I am thinking of getting the MCP-12N set from Amazon and see if it performs any better. By the way, I went to costco today, and found the tri-ply set or $100 (no kidding!). I am going to take my old receipt and get a price adjustment. But why is costco selling this for the throw away price of $100? Is cuisinart discontinuing this set or costco does not want to carry this product and is clearing their inventory? Any thoughts out there?

I have this set for less than a month. I like it so far and I like cooking with it. Even cooking eggs is also easy, but only thing clean up is bit tough if we use very little oil. But other than that set is pretty good and clean up other eggs is pretty easy.

Can anyone speak to the quality of this set? How long have you had it? What is cooking with it like? How is it holding up?

If you haven't already bought it or did so recently, keep your receipt. Starting tomorrow 5/10 and going through June 3, you can get another $50 off if you get the Costco discount mailer.

@dgaulait: Thanks, I saw that $50 coupon. I will go and get the price adjusted.

@sirin: You should take your Costco set back. There is a $50 off coupon that starts on the 10th so it will be down to $149.

The set looks good so far and havent seen any rust spots when I leave it wet for drying.

I had bought the mcp-12 last year from Amazon. I really love it. The only issue I have is that when left wet the outer steel
rusts a little. This I believe is because the outer layer is magnetic steel to be compatible with induction ranges.
I wipe it dry after washing or use bar keepers friend if I see rust stains.
Have anyone of you tried washing this set from Costco. I plan on buying it. Any feedback regarding outer layer stains will be greatly appreciated.

I bought the one from Costco, the other difference I see is Costco set has glass lids awhile the amazon has steel lids.

@arunk3: Yeah, I bought this same set back in February for the same price you paid. I wonder why the jump?

@sirin: Far as I can tell, the only difference is the Amazon one has a 3.5qt Sauce Pan and the Costco one has a 4qt Sauce Pan. Both are multiclad tri ply (though the Costco one doesn't state multiclad in the title, it does in the descriptions) and both are induction heating capable.

@curtisuxor: You were right. Amazon graciously sent me a return label for free and will be refunding the full amount.

so whats the difference in cuisinart mcp-12 set from amazon and the cuisinart triply from costco ? Or are these both the same ones ?

@williamt1980: I believe you can return it (as long as it was purchased directly from or fulfilled by Amazon) without any punishment if you say you found a better price. It's one of the standard reasons for return. As long as you chose the Free Shipping method (why wouldn't you), your return shipping should be covered.

@arunk3: Well damn, guess I just got it at a bad time. Gonna try and refuse shipment and get it from Costco instead. Thanks!
