I just assume nobody is interested in what I post/am interested in as far as deals are concerned. On occasion I have been downvoted a few times and never could understand other than a retribution for some thing or another. Oh well, keep on trying.

Looking at your deals (http://deals.woot.com/deals/users/shadowblue42), it seems most of your deals get at least a few upvotes, and your most recent got 16 in 5 hours which isn't bad.

Remember - this site is all about impulse buying. It has to be either a) very cheap, or b) an incredible deal, or c) both for someone to really want to buy it. $10 off a $200 product or $3 off a $30 product probably isn't going to cut it.

Considering your rep is 98/100 someone must be paying attention to you...

2 days ago you had one that got 97 votes, which I would guess most people never get or very rarely get.

I do feel the same way sometimes, but then I remember that everything is about timing and also remember that what interests or excites me often does not interest others.

Yes, I do feel like that sometimes. And on the flip side, I wonder why some things do get voted highly. To each his/her own I guess.

I feel like I should offer you a hug :(

Heh. It woulda been funny if we all had ignored this question and really make shadow wonder if it's just because nobody likes him :P

I just have a hard enough time finding any deals to post online

If you really want a deal to be noticed, go geeky. Instead of King of Queens, post Firefly and you are almost guaranteed to crack 100 votes, based on people liking Firefly alone.

Other than that, off beat and random is the way to get noticed. Free food usually works as well.

Yeah. I understandyour confusion. I've gotten a couple of good deals the last couple of days. One I was proud of (TurboTax [most votes for me at that point]) and one that I was less excited about, but knew it would be more of a hit (GameStop - [my current best] and it is a deal of sorts). So I admit that that one was playing to the crowd somewhat. But it's still random, in my mind. Why these two, when I thought others were better?

Most of the stuff I get excited about - woodcraft, steelnavel, angry birds Tees, etc. just doesn't seem to appeal to the rest of the community. And that's OK. I've always known I was a bit off the beaten path. ;-)

Heck, I was excited to see Amazon listing a preorder for Diablo III. I figured that meant the release was imminent. Got downvoted to the point where I expired it. I was excited! And I found this hysterical card that no one liked. Sigh.

So, hang tough, enjoy the black triangle, and keep posting. I am in awe of your 97 votes! (Awwwww...)

As said before playing the crowd and timing are huge.

You can have a deal one day that does so so and a few days later some one else posts the same or similar deal and it does great.

Sometimes its the company thats selling the product that make people think its a better deal. Take a look at Amazon deals that are the same or better on Newegg or Bestbuy, many people would buy it from Amazon for various reasons.

Personally if I think its a good deal I upvote, if not then downvote, if I'm not sure then I pass on by.

I've been surprised by some of the responses to my posted deals, honestly. Being able to see the stats on the side is a very handy bit of info too.

Some of your deals may be falling through the virtual cracks. Based on your posting history, it appears that you post several deals from a single site in a short period of time. All those deals collapse under the newest posting. For example, see your deals from amazon.com currently on page 23 of the fresh tab. Only the Final Fantasy deal is easily visible. I don't know about others, but I generally don't look at collapsed deals when I'm perusing the fresh tab.

@wnyx585am: Considering that the OP has asked 14 questions in 11 days and has 2-1/2 pages of replies to questions asked in the same timeframe, is there a need for another question here?
