"The refurb company took a week to get back to me, then after jumping through their hoops to diagnose the problem, informed me that the serial number provided was not one of theirs."

This is the point where I would have demanded that service@woot intervene on my behalf.

You might want to look into a third party warranty. I'd suggest Squaretrade, they have decent rates and their service has been pretty good in my experience. I've bought a couple warranties from them on items I've bought that have been refurbs.

@tjsynkral: I did ask them to; they referred me back to the wrong refurb company again. My customer service experience with Woot is typically very good, but this time, not so much.

@thedogma: I will on this new TV, which was considerably more expensive than the 26". But I don't feel I should have to pay for an additional warranty to fix a problem that cropped up within 1 month of my receipt of the item. I really thought Woot would take care of it for me.

Update: I spoke with Electroline, who I got in contact with via the paper from the box, and they were able to confirm that the purchase was from them and they are sending me out a new remote (I hope that fixes it). They were very helpful.

I am very sorry to say, though, that Woot customer service has not been helpful at all. Since I posted this this morning, I have had multiple interactions with them (while waiting for Electroline to call back) in which they told me that Amergence was mistaken and that I must get back in touch with them and INSIST that I got the TV from them. When I didn't. How does this kind of mix-up happen? The Woot page says "Warranty: 90 Day Electroline" (I did try to locate Electroline online before emailing Woot, but it didn't appear to be the right company). Why did several people at Woot think it was Amergence?

I have been a Woot booster for a while, and they have helped a lot in the past when problems came up. Why the big change in their ability to help?

I'm having the worst customer service ever dealing with Vizio refurbs from woot / http://www.purrfectrefurbs.com

I have sent the TV back at my own cost & just received a worst TV than the first with NO Base or remote. SMDH! NEVER AGAIN! The TV was $205 return was $123! They offered no return label! The more I try to get a replacement, the more it cost me!
