Go Wild!!
Been a Mike Yeo fan since he was with the Houston Aeros. (sad we are losing the team)

Go Blackhawks! No rituals, just watch the game with my husband. Life's been kind of busy lately, so we often end up recording the hockey games and watching late at night. It's mighty tough to be out when the game is on and not hear score updates, though.

vote-for2vote-against

@pitamuffin: I totally hear you!! I have a Penguins app on my phone and can keep up with the score and listen to the game when I'm out. Gotta love technology!!

vote-for4vote-against

Dunno why the other teams bother, everyone knows the Red Wings are gonna win.

...though I'll admit I'm watching the Caps closely this year.

Wouldn't mind a meteor hitting the Blackhawks and Avalanche though.

@figgers3036: Lol one of my favorite things about hockey is all the trash talk. I have mad respect for anyone that loves the game... Except for Flyers fans.. I kid ;)

vote-for3vote-against

@wickedd365: I don't have high hopes for them unfortunately. Twice they should have had the game in the bag and ended up going to OT. Glad they could squeak yesterday's game out.

my team was such a dissapointment this season I have pushed this season to the deep dark recesses of my mind in an attempt to forget about it...thanks for bringing the memories back to the front

vote-for2vote-against

I'm just happy my team (Leafs) have finally made the playoffs after some definitely needed staffing changes.

vote-for2vote-against

@rockytrh: I know. Expected more from them, but then again Chicago is a beast of a team.

The Pens are gonna kick all yinz team's butts!

This hockey fan is busy watching baseball. It's time for the boys of summer !

vote-for2vote-against

@ceagee: I keep trying to get into baseball.... I've been to two games which is alright but as for watching it on TV I just can't do it. I have friends that are really into it so maybe it will eventually rub off on me. Until that day I'll stick with hockey and football! ;)

@natedogg828: Looks like Rolston was just named coach. Sorry for bringing up the bad memories but maybe this will be a good thing. :)

vote-for2vote-against

@slamit665: I know that they say change comes from within, but this time I think they are wrong as it applies to the Sabres. I like Rolston but to get to the next level I think they needed to look outside the organization for both coach and GM (who needs to go IMHO)

vote-for2vote-against

@natedogg828: I hear ya, who knows though.... It may be a good decision, only time will tell.

vote-for2vote-against

@slamit665: hope it was the right decision too and you are correct, time will tell

I'm a Sharks fan. I have been since the inception of the franchise. Basically, when the franchise started, I decided that was going to be my team.

vote-for3vote-against

Go Blackhawks!!! Diehard fan!

vote-for5vote-against

Definitely a Hawks fan here, but I am watching the Ottawa/Montreal series lately because of how physical it is getting. Definitely getting too heavy in that series, but it makes for some good watching I guess. Also, I live in Minnesota which makes it particularly awkward supporting the hawks this series.

On the fandom. My whole family are Hawks fans, and ironically I and my parents are the only ones who have ever lived in Chicago. But all my aunts and uncles across Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba, Alberta and BC are all Hawks fans. It's a huge hockey family that gets together for a big family game over the holidays and a lot of the older uncles still play and coach in various leagues.

Also, fun fact, my mom once went on a "date" with the head coach of the Boston Bruins (Claude Julien). I think it was more as friends, and I'm pretty sure it was high school or University, but still a funny story (my mom had accidentally dyed her hair grey that day).

I will now claim my Rangers fandom, as they have successfully remembered how to put the puck in the back of the other net.

Here's hoping they can continue this phenomenon.

@countdown: I actually was at UND while Toews was playing for us, so I usually like to see him do well, but not this series :-). When I was at the WCHA tournament this year, you saw a lot of UND fans wearing Toews Blackhawks jerseys when UND wasn't playing.

Also like to see Oshie do well for the Blues too for the same reason.

vote-for2vote-against

@rockytrh: Definitely a Toews fan too. It was funny I was living in Vancouver during the 2010 Olympics and had a friend come visit from Chicago at the time. He walked around wearing a Team USA Kane jersey and I walked around wearing a Team Canada Toews jersey (he is American, I am Canadian, both Hawks fans though).... maybe that is just dorky... you be the judge.

Sadly we only had tix to one game, but it was a good one; RUS v CZR.

Would love to see Iggy and Tony Granato win a Cup, but it's still hard to cheer for the Pens. The Sid love just gets to be too much to take. I'm looking at you, Pierre McGuire.

Other than that, since my Thrashers aren't in the playoffs or anywhere else for that matter, I just hope for good games.

Oh, and that Minnesota loses. I don't ever want Heatley to get his name on the Cup.

vote-for2vote-against

@brandie346: You can't deny that Sid is an AMAZING player... I mean he's on the cover of Sports Illustrated today for crying out loud!!! They definitely don't put mediocre athletes on the cover!

vote-for3vote-against

I didn't say anything about Sid's abilities at all. I said the media pandering, like, for example, an SI cover proclaiming "The Most Amazing Thing About the Most Amazing Player" is tiring and lazy, just like the last SI NHL cover story on how the Blackhawks "saved" hockey. Sports Illustrated certainly isn't a bastion of quality reporting on the NHL (again, I'm looking at you, Pierre McGuire).

Sid's a great player. But the league is full of great players. I'd like to hear about them, too.

vote-for1vote-against

@brandie346: Fair enough... When you said he gets too much love I guess I thought you just meant in general. There are plenty of great players out there but I can't say I don't get all the love for Sid. He is arguably the best player in the league. He is both a blessing and a curse for the Pens though. Sadly I think that we got lazy after he came back in game 2 and I hope that we can pull it together and at the very least not get booted out of the playoffs by an 8th seed team...

vote-for2vote-against

Well then I think they're gonna have to bench Bumbles McFleury. I mean, wow.

You know what NBCSN stands for, right? Nothing But Crosby Sports Network. ;-)

vote-for1vote-against

@brandie346: Lol I'll admit Fleury wasn't on his game last night but on of those goals was blocked by another player so I can see how he didn't see the puck coming for him. I can't say much about him knocking the puck in the net himself in game 4 though... I love Fleury, he's a great goalie but he's gotta be tired... not to mention the amount of pressure he is under. I think it might have been a bad thing that game 1 was a shutout. We'll see if they put in Vokoun for game 5. If we lose in the first round of the playoffs again I'm going to be very disappointed lol!

vote-for1vote-against

Looks like they are starting Vokoun tomorrow instead of Fleury. Hopefully it's the change we need.
