@jumbowoot: Thanks your the man! Always seem to be on top of things and up at all hours of the night! This title works for me. ^^

Either way so long as I know if the ones from 1sale a day are worth my time.. I really am not concerned with the brand as much as if it's a good deal. Like how the activa ones were "bad" I use that term loosely.

edit: they were bad because many of the members here pointed out they most activa watches from amazon were just as cheap and you could pick out which one you liked instead of getting a random ugly one.

NOTE: I am not a watch enthusiast! But I think all that IP stands for is "ion plating" which makes the steel darker in color. It is also my belief that "Black IP" isn't necessarily a brand name, just a type of watch. I figure you could get Fossil or Timex or anything above, below, or in between in regards to quality! For $14.99 ($9.99 + $4.99 S/H) I'm going to try my luck and see what I end up with!

@dravack: A black IP (Ion-Plated) watch is simply a watch that's usually steel that has had the steel ion-plated to attach colour. There are other colours one can find in IP watches (I have some blue and some red and some green IP watches).

The 1SaleADay random black IP watch deal is for someone who doesn't necessarily care what kind of watch they get, as long as it's black ion-plated.

I did this deal last time it came around so I could have some random simple thank-you watches to give to friends or some beater watches to wear to events where I know they'd get damaged, but I still wanted something that looked nice (I'm a bit of a watch fanatic).

The watches I got weren't bad looking. Random mushroom watch brands, but nice looking overall. Not my finest watches, and don't expect ultimate glamour, but they're decent for the price and if you're less interested in the watch itself than in the fact that it's black and ion-plated, this is the deal for you.

So mine came in today.. Just opened it.. and well... it's better than I thought it would be? lol A black stainless steel watch from allude with a square face. I'll try to take some pictures and upload in the am.. er maybe in the pm.. I just got home from work.

I got mine a couple days ago. I just got back from a business trip so I haven't been able to see it until today. Overall it's not too bad... it is actually somewhat similar to my old Fossil watch except that it has the black steel appearance. It has a round face with a non-functional bezel (my Fossil's turns). It has a pretty cool deep blue face with silver hands. I would say it's worth the money for being a no-name, and I mean that literally, I don't see a name on it at all. As I had intended, it's a decent watch that I'm not worried about beating on. I'll see if I can't post a link to some pix in the next day or two.

ok...so a year late on this, but is there a difference between Black IP stainless steel and Black IP base metal? I am reading that base metal is usually metals that corrode easily. Would this apply to the watches made with Black IP base metal?

thanks in advance!
