I really wanted a go-cart. Actually a power-wheel when I was younger then a go-cart. My parents never took me seriously so I caddied at the local golf course in hopes that they would get the picture. Well after a couple weeks of breaking my back on the course and not saving-up nearly enough I gave up.
Sigh

doesn't everyone have a toy they never got? that was part of being a kid. being jelous of the neighbor.

i remember always wanting what the other kids had, but never because it was "the" thing, only because they had it and i didn't. this taught me to be careful with my money to only get what i actually wanted for me instead of because the jones have one.

A girlfriend :`(

I soon learned it would be the girls that toyed with me.

@unclefrog: Have you seen Drift Trikes? Basically the adult version of the tricycle. I think someone else on DW gave me that link. I turn into a little kid again watching that vid.

Yes. When I was around 5, my cousin asked my brother and I what what we wanted. My brother said a toolbox and I wanted a train set. My brother got his toolbox and I never got my train.

My cousin was quite a bit older than I was. He just died at around 67 years old and I still never got my train and this is 42 years later. Although I'm bummed out about it and still want the train set, I don't have any place in my house to set one up.

Funny....the first thing that came to my mind was the Millenium Falcon as well. I think I was the only kid to show up with my Darth Vader case full of three Greedos, one Darth (with the light saber in the arm broken) and 2 yodas missing their cloth robes. Oh, and Optimus Prime. Never got that either.

The Omnibot 2000 (don't look it up, it wiil only make you want one.)

It had a full page spread in the Sear's Wishbook. I must have left that dang catalog opened to that same page all over the house every day for two months straight and for some reason my parents never got the hint. (I wonder why?)

Mostly video games and consoles. Never had much money in the family so those those things were typically well above the. Spending limit. I'm not sure if there was any one thing I ha day heart set on that I never got. I sorta "loved the crap I got"

Honestly can't think of anything I wanted and didn't get (I don't think there were many things I actually asked for..we always had more fun playing in the woods or backyard with sticks and dirt)...I do remember getting a Furby and thinking it was the greatest toy ever.

I remember desperately wanting a Gameboy when they were first released. I told my mother that if I got one, it could count as my Christmas, birthday, graduation and wedding gift if she liked.

Never did get it. :(

@curtisuxor: That looks awesome and yet horribly dangerous all at the same time!

I very badly wanted one of those ginormous Barbie heads that you could do makeup and hairstyles with.

My mom said that's why I had a little sister and that I did NOT need a fake head when sister's head worked just fine and it would give us something to do together.

Lame, Mom. Lame.

@rlswolf: my brother once cut some of my hair off once...had a cow lick in the front of my hair for the longest (ended up getting a short hair cut afterwards too)

Rollerblades.... wanted them for a long time, but never got em.

That snow-cone maker shaped like Snoopy's doghouse, oddly enough. I had plenty of really cool, impressive toys, but I never did get that $5 piece of plastic. Don't really remember why, Mom probably (correctly) assumed it would get used once or twice and then become clutter.

EZ Bake Oven. I still harass my mom about that one.

Remember that robotic butler from RadioShack? I think the kid from silver spoons had one too. I still want that thing!

I wanted a Cabbage Patch Kid, but back in the day they were expensive and my parents refused to get one for me. :(

The board game "Fireball Island".

I STILL want one, but every single one I find online is $100+... I still scour every Goodwill and garage sale I go to, maybe someday I'll get lucky =/

@starblind: Me too! Oh, how I wanted one. Although I now see the wisdom of my parents in refusing to get me one, because when my friend actually got one, it lasted about a week before we decided it needed to have the Bo Derek 10 style (excuse me while I show my age). We were a little unclear on how one should go about creating nylon cornrows, and we made an unfettered tangled mess of half of Barbie's giant head before giving up and never playing with it again.

@rlswolf: I did, too, but my mother thought they were creepy because they were essentially decapitated heads.

I always wanted the BIG Lego sets, particularly the castles and the boats. I got a smaller castle set (opened up to be one wall and had a siege tower, which was pretty cool) that I bought with my own money and I loved that thing. For my birthday last year I bought myself the Imperial Flag Ship (http://www.amazon.com/LEGO-Pirates-Imperial-Flagship-10210/dp/B0032BC3TU/ref=sr_1_1?s=toys-and-games&ie=UTF8&qid=1336147722&sr=1-1). But I still don't have my castle.

My older nephew is really into Legos right now so for Christmas and his birthday I buy him one of the big sets that he wants. And, usually, I get to help him put it together and play with it after we're done. Almost as good as getting them for myself.

All I ever wanted was one of those Little Tykes play kitchen with the oven, and the yellow phone, and sink. Did I get that? Of course not! I instead got a little kitchen for my barbie.

My very own, fully functional TARDIS.

I even would have taken one with a broken chameleon circuit.

I Finally got my Floam! It was everything I thought it could be and more. It was pretty much just slimy styrofoam balls but it was great!

I also never got my own personal Gack or moonshoes, but i tried my friends moon shoes and found out they blew. I'm sure I'll remember more things as people mention them, but that's all I remember for now.

I wanted a Creepy Crawler maker. Mom knew it would be more work for her than it would be fun for me I think.

I wanted a Game Boy.
But my friend bought me a PSP 15 years later. I guess it worth the wait?
