Hopfully they are in shelter if it's that close. But if Texas is like Oklahoma they are all standing at the front door with a beer, and their cameras ready.

http://dfw.cbslocal.com/live-video/ if you'd like to watch the weather. As far as I know so far, everyone's fine.

vote-for51vote-against

It's past my house now. We got heavy rain and hail with some random big rocks. Maisy and I hid in the bathroom.

Picture of hail

It's moving towards HQ now.

vote-for8vote-against

I just heard on the bottom of the hour news. I hope everyone's okay. Stay safe. Let us know. We care.

vote-for6vote-against

My brother-in-law is in the Kennedale area. He said it was okay For Now. Hope everyone is well!

vote-for8vote-against

@thunderthighs: Glad to here you are well. Those are some good sized hail stones.

So does this mean there will be a few more BOC's available next time around?

vote-for7vote-against

@ruger9mm: Nah, we do margaritas here. At Least as long as the electricity holds up for the blender that is. Then maybe some Shiner.

vote-for11vote-against

@pyxientx: With the hail that thunderthighs was showing, you can always have the margarita on the rocks!

vote-for6vote-against

@ruger9mm: True, but hail is nasty. Besides, I like smooth, not crunchy Margaritas.

vote-for10vote-against

@ruger9mm: I'm not sure hail would travel well...

vote-for8vote-against

@inkycatz: Well at least it wouldn't with how slow FedEx is.

vote-for6vote-against

@inkycatz: Not at the speed you guys ship anyway, but if you had expedited shipping.... Just saying.

vote-for18vote-against

I don't think there is anything more frightening than watching CNN, live, while a tornado picks up tractor-trailers and tosses them in the air, and then back down, like tinker toys. Thanks @thunderthighs, for letting me know you are safe and sound. I've already checked with darling daughter, and she is also safe and sound. No more CNN for me until later today. I don't want to see any more semis come crashing down on the freeway. No thanks.

My stomach hurts.

vote-for5vote-against

@shrdlu: I saw that, Then why where my shirts coming from Austin?
WTF Woot!?

vote-for6vote-against

Could the writers strike have brought the wrath of the Woot Gods upon them?

vote-for6vote-against

@wickedd365: I don't know anything about shirts, but I know where Woot HQ is. I just got stuff from Indiana, and they're not there, either.

vote-for7vote-against

Back to spring planting. Everyone stay safe.

[Edit: Aw, @1sparklyunicorn, I'm so happy you're okay. Stay sparkly, dear friend.]

vote-for48vote-against

@shrdlu: We are all safe. Some tornadoes came very close to us though.

vote-for20vote-against

@ruger9mm: Actually most of our writers are in Seattle. Not all of them, but most of them.

vote-for4vote-against

Wow, That is some big hail! I wonder if this is this the weather that blew past El Paso yesterday? Dropped our temp about 20 degrees, but no rocks falling from the sky. We pretty much can't get a tornado unless it is born in our back yard as we are surrounded by mountains, but we get some ugly wind.

vote-for22vote-against

Checking in with pictures.

Hopefully you all can see those without needing to log in to Facebook. I know some of you don't like Facebook.

vote-for5vote-against

@inkycatz: don't have a huge problem with Facebook other than I can't check in from work, need to wait until I get home. Glad to hear you made it through alright

vote-for4vote-against

@thunderthighs: i hope you didn't kick the cat outside for the storm! arggh

did anyone check to see if wootbot is still in 1 piece?

vote-for5vote-against

I just got home. Glad to see everyone is okay. I hope this storm weakens before it gets to Texarkana!

vote-for6vote-against

I hope my house is where I left it this morning.

vote-for9vote-against

Hopefully you will remember this the next time you decide NOT to post a B0C on April 1st. You pissed God off.

vote-for7vote-against

@natedogg828: Aw, you're sweet, but I'm in Seattle! We've just got clouds up here. :)

vote-for7vote-against

@inkycatz: You forgot to mention - lots and lots of rain

vote-for4vote-against

@inkycatz: I can never keep track of where all you woot staffers are located

vote-for4vote-against

The first line of storms came through, THEN the tornado sirens went off, then pretty much off and on tornado sirens for the rest of the afternoon.

vote-for6vote-against

@natedogg828: It took me a while at first, and I work here!

vote-for3vote-against

Some hail and downed trees in east fort worth. Looks like we got lucky this go' round.

vote-for29vote-against

My parents are still out there in Arlington. They live about a block away from some of the stuff they're covering down there, but they're completely fine. The issue is that the electricity's out with no estimation for when they'll be able to get it back. My parents' restaurant gets its food in on Mondays so they've actually suffered a really big loss there.

I'm ALSO bummed because I was flying out to NYC tonight with a layover in DFW, and my whole flight has been cancelled.

It was so funny to see that Seattle was covering the Dallas tornadoes so I knew it was a big deal! I called my mom and she was oblivious. We're from Houston originally and tend to just tune out the sirens so I had to tell her NO REALLY, IT'S RIGHT THERE.

vote-for3vote-against

@thefenst: Have not read to the end yet, but hope all is well on the homefront also. Did you win the game!!

vote-for7vote-against

@agingdragqueen: Glad that no one was hurt or suffered major damage. My daughter lived in Dallas for about 4 years, and I just never saw anything like this, thankfully. I would have been a wreck. Sorry for the monetary damage your parents have suffered - hope there is insurance coverage for it.

vote-for15vote-against

All we got was a little rain, it didn't even hail. Although it was fun to just hang around in the hall and talk with... I mean, seek shelter in a room with no windows. It was really no fun at all...yea...

vote-for17vote-against

@klozitshoper: it's tough for me seeing this happen to a city and group of people I love but am so far away from!

I think my parents are good on the insurance, but they're not sure when they'll be able to reopen or get in another truck to replace everything that's spoiled. I gotta say, I'm sad for them, but they do need a couple days off ...maybe just not this way.

I was watching the news, and everyone talking about their damaged house is just so nice about it. Those are the kinda Texans I love, the ones who face something crappy like that, shrug and go out to talk to the neighbors.

vote-for3vote-against

I got to really get to know some coworkers and customers up close when we spent about 20 minutes packed into the two small tornado shelter areas.

vote-for9vote-against

@klozitshoper: Yes, everyone is OK. I did win :)

vote-for2vote-against

@pyxientx: Who needs a blender to make 'ritas? Dump all the ingredients into a big container (surely y'all have one in the warehouse - tequila will sanitize it) and stir, then dip it up like punch. Use ice while the ice lasts...

vote-for6vote-against

@inkycatz: I'm late to the Is-Woot-Safe emergency conference, but I'm grateful for the pictures anyway. And appreciative of your concern for us FB haters.

vote-for4vote-against

Glad everyone is safe.

@agingdragqueen: sorry about your folks' restaurant stuff being spoiled. I am sure they'll get a truck soon enough. I also love Texas for its awesome people. No matter what happens, most everyone just picks up and moves along to help out.

@aphroat: Yes, in Texas we have big containers. Ours are just bigger than yours :-P. But I wouldn't drink out of them. In the warehouse where I work, they are 330 gallons and contain chemicals mean enough to eat your skin off.

vote-for4vote-against

@pyxientx: Eh, I thought you were Woot!staff, my mistake. I was thinking home-brew kit "barrel"...

Yes, there are a lot of big containers here in Texas.

vote-for3vote-against

@aphroat: the home brew barrel would work though. I am sure the Woot!staff might take it under consideration next time.

vote-for8vote-against

@agingdragqueen I watched the 'nados from the top floor of Science Hall on UTA campus. If there's anything we can do for your parents, just say so, and I'll see what can be done.
