questionshow do you feel about fox cancelling terra nova?

I'm OK with it since I never watched it. However, if they cancel Raising Hope, then there will be a problem!

vote-for2vote-against

Eh kinda sad. I enjoyed it but it wasn't something I watch every single week as soon as it's posted on hulu. Only thing like that I watch is the Simpsons. Honestly i don't know why anymore.

vote-for13vote-against

Not surprised.

Somewhat mixed feelings, as the show had potential.

It's FOX!
Fairly interesting show, in the beginning.
Turns out the commandant's kid is an anti establishment genius.
Turns out the actual bad guys are the Big Industrialists in the GovMilBiz hierarchy. The rest are either Minions or Believers.
The good guys are environmentalists and treehuggers.
And some of the science was wonky.
I liked the show anyway, but I was surprised that Fox ran it this long.

vote-for11vote-against

Typical of Fox. How many shows have they given up on that really had potential or were original? Firefly!

vote-for6vote-against

I watched the first season, but it wasn't a show that I was anxiously awaiting the next season of. I would have watched it if they made the second season, but not a must watch show.

vote-for5vote-against

I liked the pilot, but it lost steam quickly and then lost my interest. A lot of great potential and concepts, but it just seemed rudderless.

vote-for6vote-against

Cool premise, generally poor execution. They're shopping it around so maybe they'll resolve some of the lingering questions on SciFi or wherever.

vote-for23vote-against

Well, unfortunately, Lois, there's just no more room on the schedule. We've just got to accept the fact that Fox has to make room for terrific shows like "Dark Angel," "Titus," "Undeclared," "Action," "That 80's Show," "Wonderfalls," "Fastlane," "Andy Richter Controls the Universe," "Skin," "Girls Club," "Cracking Up," "The Pits," "Firefly," "Get Real," "Freaky Links," "Wanda at Large," "Costello," "The Lone Gunmen," "A Minute With Stan Hooper," "Normal, Ohio," "Pasadena," "Harsh Realm," "Keen Eddie," "The Street," "American Embassy," "Cedric the Entertainer," "The Tick," "Louie," and "Greg the Bunny."

vote-for-5vote-against

If Fox could create a show where they lie all day, make up stories, pay politicians to be "newscasters" and have empty headed blondes rant all day then they would have a winner......oh wait, never mind

vote-for3vote-against

I didn't even know it was still on.

vote-for11vote-against

I feel fine about it.
The pilot was great.
The rest of the show sucked. Hard.

vote-for4vote-against

I watched every episode and thought it had great potential, it just needed to find itself. Maybe somebody else will pick it up and the producers/writers will learn from the first season mistakes and be able to tweak it into something great.

vote-for5vote-against

very expensive show, My kids and wife watched it with me every week, we all liked it. I knew this was a possibility as I watched the ratings after the pilot get worse by the week. It barely made the top 20 shows each week in the Nielsen ratings. I almost held off watching it til after fox announced whether or not it would be renewed for a second season... I hate cliffhangers left unanswered.

You can't really blame the for canceling a show that costs more to produce than advertisers are willing to pay for ad-time.

I'll miss the show, it was our "family tv-night" show.

vote-for7vote-against

if this says anything...
watched the first couple...thats it.
kept dvr-ing, "i'll get to that eventually" nope. still haven't...
maybe i can free up some space now...

vote-for7vote-against

I'm surprised it lasted as long. I saw the first couple episodes and had my doubts. I didn't really like any of the characters nor the premise really. If you're going back in time to change the course of modern history, you're going back 85 million years? I think a few thousand is good enough. To be honest, going back to pre-industrial age with warnings should suffice.

vote-for5vote-against

@tbgolladay: pretty much anything Joss Whedon does.

vote-for2vote-against

I'm pretty surprised it was axed after Falling Skies made it to a second season. I liked the show, but my life will go on for sure.

vote-for2vote-against

i thought the show is going to be about survival mixed in with dinosaurs. turns out it was about mild family and relationship dramas and cheesy plots. there was an episode or two w/o even an image of a dinosaur even when it was the selling point of the show.

vote-for6vote-against

Good lord.. they cancelled that?
The networks have a way of phasing out shows that makes you forget they ever existed.. like the mafia.

At the end of the season they'd implied they were going to run it. They even called the last episode the "season finale" not "series finale.."

I was thinking about this the other day.. I have a few shows on my DVR from when I first got it that I really liked. The other day I realized that it was like 2 years ago that I had added them lol

I don't remember how long I waited for LIFE and Flash Forward to come back before I realized dad didn't really leave to just go buy a pack of smokes.

vote-for4vote-against

I liked it a lot but they could of done a better job on the graphics and it aired on Friday which was lame

vote-for2vote-against

I thought the first ep was pretty bad. Stopped watching.

vote-for-1vote-against

Watched an episode and thought it was a pretty weak show. Plus, the camp leader dude just kind of bugged me.

vote-for4vote-against

Personally, I hope the sale of the show to another network works out. I was probably more attached to it than most, judging from the fact that I don't have TV signal where I am and was actually (gasp) buying each episode from Amazon (shameless woot parent company plug).

Then again, I'm a sucker for big-budget sci-fi.

vote-for3vote-against

Lot's of potential but the horrible acting and cheesy plots ruined it for me, I won't miss it.

vote-for3vote-against

I DVRed the season after catching the pilot by chance. I watched the whole season, it definitely went downhill as the season progressed. If it does have a second life on another network the writing has to get better.

vote-for2vote-against

Good. That show was terra-ble.

vote-for3vote-against

Kinda bummed. OK, it wasn't high drama but it WAS better than a whole lot of the (profanity) Fox likes to throw at us. I like Jason O'Mara (hated him for getting to work with that gorgeous Indian chick and then getting to go home to Paige Turco) and the guy playing the commander.

Oh well, Maybe SyFi or CWS will pick it up.

But of those poxy barstids cancel "Fringe" or "Bones" then I'm gonna pack the .308 and go huntin'!

vote-for3vote-against

I'm not surprised. The show was, apparently, very expensive to make. And the ratings weren't great.

I thought it had potential but really wasn't very good. It was like an ABC Family drama...with a bit of sci-fi to get the premise going and with dinosaurs. Personally, I watched it for the dinosaurs, which were very cool.

vote-for3vote-against

My new favorites right now (atleast of brand new shows) are Person of Interest and Grimm. Never got into Terra Nova. I'm sad to say that I am getting rather upset with The Walking Dead right now though. It's just a soap opera with a few zombies thrown in just to remind you that it's about zombies.

The first season was amazing this season is just dragging on. I keep watching just hoping it gets better but it isn't.

vote-for2vote-against

Funny, I watched every episode of the first season, yet I didn't recall the show when I first read your question. Guess I didn't miss it, so I'm sure I won't miss it.

Frankly, the show wasn't all that good. I can understand some people liked it, but.. meh... it seemed like it was going to "have potential", and never get beyond that.

vote-for2vote-against

I did the same thing @earlyre: did, watched the first few and had them all on DVR.
I noticed they stopped having new eps so I waited, I did not want to invest in a canceled show. I deleted them last week. Reading this makes me glad I did.

vote-for3vote-against

@zapp brannigan I like Grimm and it's going to get another season, but the storyline and writing have been weak. Hopefully they do better next season and bring in a little more realism.

I'm sad to see Terra Nova go, especially after they strung fans along for so long. It certainly wasn't the best show on TV, but I think it did pretty well considering when it aired and it had potential.

vote-for3vote-against

Didn't know it was even cancelled! Watched the whole season, honestly forgot about it so I guess it wasn't my "favorite" show but kind of sad it was cancelled. Seems like they cancel every show I end up having an interest in. Thinking of giving up watching t.v. since I never find out how they end since they kill them off!

vote-for2vote-against

Can't believe it took this long. I knew it after watching the first episode that it wouldn't last. Gave second episode a shot but just couldn't finish it.

I had already figured out the big story arch, the acting was pretty bad, and the animation was horrendous. I've seen better animation in lower budget horror flicks.

vote-for4vote-against

I knew it wasn't going to succeed. It was an old-fashioned family show like I used to watch as a kid, the characters and rhythms were very familiar. TV doesn't have room for that sort of show any more. It also had high production costs. I enjoyed it. Some of the stories were dumb, but no dumber than the stories on most of the other shows. Some of the stories were good, but no better than those of other shows. I really liked watching Stephen Lang chewing up the scenery in every episode. And speaking of chewing up the scenery, I LOVE dinosaurs. Put dinos in your show and I will watch it. I really miss Primeval, which had much lower production values and similar dumb/good storytelling but watching a T-Rex running down a busy highway is always worth my time.

Here's an interesting article on a chance for continuation:

vote-for2vote-against

i watched around 3 episodes and then totally forgot it was on...RIP

vote-for4vote-against

Pretty much what has been said. It was a show that had potential but was killed by a weak plot, very high production costs, mediocre (at best) writing, and bad acting. I was hoping the show would improve with time, but it really got worse (with maybe the exception of the last show). Fox has a reputation for pulling the plug on promising shows, but many of them were getting legs and improving with time. This was going the wrong way.

vote-for1vote-against

The show was awful. The trailers for it made it look so interesting, but geez that show was so family friendly that it made it awful. I'm glad it's over. Bring on something good please.

vote-for1vote-against

Add that to the list of good shows FOX cancelled:
FireFly
The Sarah Connor Chronicles
Americas Most Wanted
...
