Who's the best comic villain ever?

Jerry Robinson, creator of the Joker, has died. The Joker is a great villain and explains some of Batman's success. My other vote would be Magneto.

Magneto. Because I empathize with his position and I even think when it comes down to it he's right. f humans knew there were people with superpowers living among us, we'd freak out and a lot of them would end up being hurt or killed, ostracized, mistreated and registered with an overly intrusive government.

I am a fan of Joker. Easily one of the most diabolical villains out. Has no remorse, no regard for human life, and is one sick SOB!
That and he has Harley Quinn following him around.

@moondrake: I'll certainly agree with Magneto. He has amazing powers and a reasonable argument. We, as a society, would freak out because we understand the temptation that super powers would involve.

But there's the old adage know thine enemy. With Magneto and Lex Luther, they're pretty transparent (especially when you're Xavier.) Joker is enigmatic and many of his actions senseless. That's intimidating.

I'm a pretty big fan of the Hulk.
It took ALL of the avengers and more to take him out and they still werent able to defeat him... they had to send him into SPACE, even then, when he broke out of the ship he ended up CONQUERING the planet he landed on.
He is also pretty much immortal since he gets stronger the madder he gets and can regenerate.
