Ooh, I sure am. With a handful of alcoholics and several certified crazy people it should be an adventure.

I think every family has its problems and unhealthy dynamics. That is why I live 900 miles away from mine!

@scarabkafer: I see your 900 miles, and raise you 1600 to extended family, and 2400 to my real family...

Of course, I have been "Adopted" by another half dozen dysfunctional families to come play the part of "crazy unkie Rick," which usually turns out pretty fun. As long as I'm not the one who makes the most embarrassing mess of things, I get invited back the next year.

@scarabkafer: I'm horribly jealous. I wish I lived that far away from my insane family...

Where do you think you're going? Nobody's leaving. Nobody's walking out on this fun, old-fashioned family Christmas. No, no. We're all in this together. This is a full-blown, four-alarm holiday emergency here. We're gonna press on, and we're gonna have the hap, hap, happiest Christmas since Bing Crosby tap-danced with Danny fing Kaye. And when Santa squeezes his fat white a down that chimney tonight, he's gonna find the jolliest bunch of a*holes this side of the nuthouse.

-Christmas Vacation (might as well be my family)

Is there any other kind? I mean, come on, if there aren't a few crazies, alcoholics, and teens who think they are better and smarter than everyone else would it be a family gathering? Nope...Don't see it happening.

@caver2130: Christmas Vacation is my very favorite Christmas movie. Maybe because I can relate so well to it....
