Does anyone live in the Carolinas?
I may be moving to the Charlotte area at the end of the month. I haven't decided if I want to be on the North Carolina or South Carolina side. Are there any pros/cons to this? I have a few other questions, but want to see if anyone even lives in the area first. Anyone?

I do - north of Charlotte around Davidson. Much nicer people up here :)
Will you be working/going to school in Charlotte? If so then that and gas prices will probably dictate where you live :)
Do you have school age kids? S. Carolina and Mecklenburg County schools aren't great. Iredell (North of Charlotte) is a better school district plus they have lower taxes.
I can give you more info if you tell me more about what you plan to do here and where you need to be close to.
They BOTH have state income taxes. Something to add to your consideration of where to move.
South Carolina is drowning in debt. $933 million dollars is owed to the Federal Government just on unemployment that was "borrowed". It, like many states has an under-reported unemployment rate, where the real rate is somewhere near the 20-30% mark. I'd say to stay near Charlotte, on the North Carolina side.
To answer your question, no. No one lives in the Carolinas.
@prosperouscheat: No kids and no wife. Phew. I have a possible job offer, it just isn't official yet. I should know for sure by the end of the month. I met with the owner yesterday though and everything seems good. The main office is located in western SC, but the new office is probably going to be in northern Rock Hill. I've been looking online for places to live and am really interested in the Alpha Mill apartments but an employee of the company told me NoDa/Uptown isn't a good place to live. I just figured living in that area would make it easier to meet people my first year there. Do you know of any areas that are fairly close to Rock Hill that are nice? Do you know anything about Rock Hill? I'm 25, so it'd be nice to live in a somewhat younger area.
I'm actually not positive where the new office is even going to be, so that makes it a little hard. It might even be in Charlotte, but either way most likely in the Rock Hill/Charlotte area. I guess I need to wait and find out more.
