Did you know Woot is having a trivia contest on their facebook page?
"In the spirit of MAY THE FOURTH BE WITH YOU, let's do some astronomy trivia."
i just won a $15 coupon that doesn't expire! thanks woot! (and Kristy who sent me the code)
I did and I won one of the questions...horay. :)
Maybe I should have posted this here... whoops!
@agingdragqueen: it's ok. we got you covered. :)
I knew because I followed their twitter (in case anyone is wondering)...that's also how I find out when wootoffs start (because I wake up to 100 tweets!)
@carl669: you guys are too good to me.
@agingdragqueen: urp! Did you mean post the contest here?? If so, that would have been extra nice. Not a FB fan. :-/
Not that I am against facebook, but I am at work and they are anti-social
time to go flex some Star Wars trivia muscle...
edit: oh it's space trivia... dang, I don't know that much about real space
@agingdragqueen: bring back the nightly WOOT CLUE trivia game!
WOOT CLUE 2012, never forget!
I ;ghae[th89t90e3thwe43th49t43tbi HATE FACEBOOK!!!!!
Next time, how bout round these parts?
@agingdragqueen: Hey you, how 'bout some clarification on that Venus atmosphere question? The CO2 folks were right. Venus' atmosphere supports clouds made of sulfuric acid which make it difficult to see, but the atmosphere itself is composed primarily of CO2.
I don't get involved with companies on fb, so you can count me as another vote to have it here next time.
@meh3884: I guess if you want to pick it apart- I asked what the impenetrable (by eye, at least) part of the atmosphere was made out of which is sulfur. CO2 is not really responsible for blocking our view though you are right that it does comprise the majority of the atmosphere and I could have worded the question better.
@agingdragqueen: Sure sure, just being picky :) Just the science geek coming out of me; clouds are product of a given atmospheric composition, but not actually part of the makeup of an atmosphere. /buzzkiller
@meh3884: true dat. I wrote most of them yesterday out of order and I forgot Saturn, so it's not like I'm a huge expert, oy. I swear, I got near perfect scores in science... a long while ago.
@carl669: Saw this and got in there in time to win on the last question. Thanks!
@hattrick12488: you're welcome!
Woohoo! I just got one off the second to last question! The facebook servers must like me more than the woot servers. :-)
I'm glad we played! Feel free to leave any feedback, as I know you have opinions.
Sadly, my job title indicates Social Media junk so I do things externally, but we are aware of the love-hate relationship our Deals peeps have with Facebook, Twitter, etc.
Facebook is too confusing at this point
@agingdragqueen: i liked it due to the simplicity.
Wah!? I missed it! Can I get a little warning before these happen? LOL. I could've sworn I've been on Facebook all day.. I guess I don't see random posts from likes on my news feed.
