What has Woot shown you?
I've been around here for sometime now and I've kept seeing this deal for "Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog". I ignored it thinking it was some cheesy pun of classic children's songs where they changed the lyrics to something horribly awful. But last week I finally decided to look into it.
Let's just say that since Monday (5 days ago) I have: Watched the movie 11 times (and rapidly growing), bought the dvd, bought the comic book, bought the book with all the sheet music, and have bought the album. It has also replaced 'Buried' as my all time favorite movie. Basically, this movie is amazing.
Because of this discovery, I now want to give other previous slough off series a chance, like "Mystery Science Theater 3000".
What is something amazing that you discovered from Woot?
I finally gave in to Firefly & it lived up to the hype.
How quickly I can go thru 6lbs. of caramels. Also, I do love to come here and read up on what is said about some of the deals. This place has saved me from getting bad stuff.
Woot showed me how to register for classes (when I was still in college) when the system was bogged down. One semester I actually got everything I wanted because the system was so slow everyone just gave up.
Woot! has now allowed me to instinctively hit the F5 button faster than the speed of light. I'm now also able to memorize the number on the debit card I use to make purchases.
I, too, have learned the number, expiration date, and security code for every credit card I own (just in case woot dumps my information. To quote Armageddon "it's happened before, it will happen again")
I've learned that the pursuit of a BoC is by far more than half the fun of actually getting one. That screaming, flying monkeys are barrels of fun & totally w/o any other intrinsic value. Both can become an obsession. :-/
I've learned that a deals site can take up a significant portion of your life if you let it, and must, like everything fun, be done in moderation.
[edit: and that a little colored triangle can be an obsession, as I see I just got my black one back for the third time or so...]
I learned how to stack deals/coupons. It sounds silly, I know. I wasn't gaming the system to maximize my expendable income and now I am. I learned about price comparison add on's, where to find coupon codes, minimum and maximums to buy to score the best deal etc..Thanks Woot!
I learned that buying gourmet/luxury items doesn't have to drain my bank account thanks to wine.woot. I learned that I can get awesome random t-shirts and unique t-shirts of the day super cheap. I also learned that @jumbowoot is freakin' awesome and that I love getting his emails.
Woot has shown me the light!! Before woot I had never heard of a one-a-day site. My second favorite is this one!

The people - the woot and all of its subsidiaries, offshoots, etc. and all of my fellow wooters and dealwooters, etc. You just cannot stay away! Pretty much anything you could ever want (Mazerati excluded) will show up here at a good price.
Woot!, expecially deals.woot has shown me how bad(really bad) my impulsive buying side is...
People will do many things for Rep :)
Deals.woot has shown me behavior modification on a large scale is possible.
How large numbers of people can come together and just use vast quatities of oxygen with little/no real lasting impact to the world, but will sometimes (maybe 7% of the time) produce something that is magical. Just like Congress but without the commercials every few months.
The money.
@xdavex: Dealswoot has an uncommonly decent group of people to begin with though, so those results are lopsided.
Woot has shown me that I can stay up to 1am to see what tomorrows deal is,
and still get up for work @ 5:30. :)

What I discovered about deals.woot is, that it takes about 12 days to go from a "Black Triangle"(91) to a "Green Triangle"(78) if you do nothing but just post deals everyday. I wanted to see how fast I could get a black triangle, so I did all of the recommendations that deals/woot gives. Now that I got black triangle, I am done. It was fun, on to the next......... Happy Holiday's everyone!

@arevan - Wait, sheet music? Are we talking piano sheet music? If so, where did you get it from? I'd love to get my hands on such a book.
@gideonfrost: Yeah, that was what got me interested, but I had to get it on DVD for a little bit more. It was so worth it though.

I haven't received mine yet, but if you read some of the reviews it seems like it would be good for piano and guitar.
