I don't know if it's you. I might suspect that, since I get incredible satisfaction from the Woot! family of sites. But to each his or her own!

No, you guys, it's totally true. They've made sure to specify that we can only sell things people do not like. They want us to be as non-profitable as possible.

@segafanalways: it appears most likely that those are a User Transmitted Disease. We're going to have to do another round of treatments to get rid of them, though they seem more pervasive this time.

it's not you, but the obvious suckism doesn't have as much to do with amazon as it does the growth of the site. RIP

So, one year later and it's official, woot now sucks. I've been a wooter since woot was new...

It's no longer "one item a day" the site is cluttered with "Deals!", "Sponsored Deals", "Clubbed Seals" or whatever, I used to care what the item was going to be, but now that I'm inundated with the plethora of items that are available on the main screen...

Honestly, I don't even check daily anymore, I still have the original WOOT wine with the cherub dancing on the F5 key, I can't imagine that any cherubs have danced on the F5 key in quite some time since the acquisition.

Too much, Too fast. Too many "Woot-Offs", and when was the last time someone got a TIVO in their BOC?

sigh Pouring one out to the inevitable demise of a once great concept and the continued and ubiquitous corporatization of once independent entities...

@questor: Indeed. I used to relish at the chance to be stuck on a 'too busy server' waiting impatienlty wondering if my order for BOC went through or not.

Now, there's no more waiting as there's no BOC's actually given out as far as I can tell. I'm amongst the first wooters to the screen to find that it's already sold out. WTF is that about? And if people ARE winning BOC's, wouldn't they comment something like 'WOOT, I won a BOC!!!", but no, they aren't commenting that at all...

RIP the way it used to be...

Geez, why so negative?

You have to vote up more before you can vote down.

Don't get us wrong. Negativity has its place. And downvotes are just as essential as upvotes when it comes to making Deals.Woot a useful place to find deals.

But when your votes lean so heavily toward the dark side, we have to wonder. Go vote up a few things. Accentuate the positive for a little while. It'll do you some good, and it'll do the site some good, too. Then you can get back to dealing out the smackdowns, OK?
