Should I buy a dsi, dsi xl, or ds 3d?
I need to replace my nintendo dsi. Which of the above should I get and why?

3DS has the 3D gimmick (which can be turned off) and also plays all games that the normal DSi would play. It's also a lot more expensive ($250).
DSi XL has a huge screen, which is a plus. I would get that over the regular DSi if you decide to not get the 3DS.
You'd certainly save a lot of money if you bought a dsi / dsi xl right now or as the 3ds is released. I'd be weary of a used one though, as mine has a few issues with charging and the games freeze if it's tapped in a certain way.
I personally have been waiting for the 3ds ever since the introduction of the system, so I'm going to be all over that. But for most people it's not their thing or not worth it to them. (I do think it was announced it could play 3d movies from netflix in the future. Not really a winning option for me, but it is interesting none the less.)
My recommendation for most people would still be with the dsi, because lets face it, you have a whoooooooole lot of games to choose from, the 3ds barely has any and when it's released I won't actually have any games I want for it!
See I like the 3d gimmick so i kinda would like to get that. But I almost would rather wait till A. They have more games. B. come out with the 3d xl lol.
@gut funk my dsi has that same problem. I bought it new and have never dropped it or anything. Sadly I bought it close to release day and warranty is gone now =( Not a huge deal but sucks to be playing something and it dies from a wrong bump. (happened several times while playing pokemon black >.<)
DSI XL $169.99 DS 3d $249.99
I advise to wait until the 3ds comes out to see if they lower the price of the dsi.
