This will be interesting. Watching and waiting to see how it goes

I am. It's good to see that they were finally able to launch.

vote-for7vote-against

Yep, he's crazy. Crazy awesome.

vote-for4vote-against

Definitely the possibility of history in the making.

vote-for6vote-against

The Discovery channel's feed is one minute ahead of the youtube feed. Not sure how that happened, but there you go.

Is there an exact height they are trying to reach? I know it says at least 120,000 ft, but once they get there, is there a something that will tell them when to go ahead with the jump?

All the computers in the house suddenly refuse to load the stream. Guess I'll be missing history :(

vote-for4vote-against

Record set! Highest a man has been in a balloon.

@oo7slice: What I hear is it will depend on where the balloon stops in the stratosphere, could between anywhere between 120-130k feet. FYI for those who can't get the stream to load, they are having some kind of problem with his faceshield heating element.

They just announced they have confirmed he will be jumping and the maximum float height is leveling off - he's at about 122,000 feet

edit: The balloon regained ascent speed and is up past 127k. They're venting helium to slow the ascent and starting the checklist to depressurize the capsule and pressurize his suit.

It's being played live on Discovery Channel. I have it recording as I don't have time to sit and watch it right now.

Fun fact: 128000 feet is 24.2424242424242424242424... miles up.

Wow, talk about taking your life into your own hands!
At this point he is sitting with his feet on the tiny step... INSANE!

He actually tried a couple of days ago but they had to call it off because of "gusty winds" lol.. awesome thing to watch.

That had to be a hell of a view.

vote-for3vote-against

That was amazing. Also, he broke Youtube.

@rprebel: Glad you added the video. That was THE MOMENT to watch! The guy just dropped like a rock. Good work.
