Did you shop on Black Friday? If so, did you get what you were looking for? What was your haul?
Two of my friends and I hit Walmart at 6pm on Thursday. He was looking for a TV for his dad for Christmas, I was after a cheap computer to replace one that broke down the week before. After 6 hours of standing in line, he got a 32" tv for <$150 and I got a Windows 8 laptop for $180. We stopped at IHOP at midnight to refuel, then hit KMart where I got four pairs of shoes on BOGO and she got some nice winter fuzzies. Got home at 4:30am, was back out at 10am on BF to get the mock wood stove fireplace that Walmart put out at 5am, to hit Anna's linens for bedding and curtains, and Pet Barn for 20% off a $100 dog food purchase and 30% off fresh baked treats. I also bought about 10 movies and about 20 seasons of TV shows at Walmart, KMart, and online at Best Buy and Amazon. Now I'm cruising Cyber Monday sites, but the free shipping on Puritan's Pride vitamins and Mighty Leaf tea are all that have caught my interest so far.
First off, I hate you, in a good way. I can't believe you got all that stuff!! You are a trooper, haha. Second, I didn't step foot out my door black friday but got a MyTouch Q for $200 off (originally $400 because I went prepaid) on the t-mobile site. Then on Saturday I hit up gamestop because they had a buy 2 get 1 free on all preowned games and accessories. I got 6 games all together, split between me, my nephew and my boyfriend. One was pokemon Black but my BF already has it, so it's mine now. :) On Sunday I went on walmart.com for their 'get 3 xbox360 games for $25' thing. Got 2 games for my boyfriend and Dragon Age II for myself. Oh, and I bought a few of the sponsored deal Xbox Live memberships they had; 1 for me, 1 for my BF, and 1 for my cousin. So considering I didn't actually leave the house on Black Friday, I think I did pretty well, no?
I did pretty good on Black Friday.
Best deal was a 20 piece Pyrex food storage set at Kohls that included the three pieces my sister wanted. It was on sale for $29.99 but by the time it's all done it will have cost me about $8, less than the cost of one of the containers my sister wanted. I also got cheap some DVDs for myself, a football at 50% off for my little nephew, an LED mini Maglite for the same nephew for $10, some free after all the hoops at the drug stores toiletries for the food bank, 15% off my monthly comic book subscriptions, a book for my dad for about 70% off list price, a book for myself at 65% off regular price, cat food and my weekly groceries (although those weren't any cheaper than normal :( ).
I hit the sweet spot between "crazy stay up all night" shoppers and "avoiding the crazy stay up all night" shoppers and had no problems with parking or lines at checkouts.
I'm over 3/4ths done with my Christmas shopping. Woo-hoo!
I did my BF shopping on Thursday and Friday from this very chair. I got what I wanted at a good price plus free shipping!
The blu-rays and wii games I ordered on Thanksgiving Thursday on Walmart.com arrived via FEDEX today while I was home for lunch. Swift service and good timing.
