Ever had your cell phone stolen? Suggestions where to buy used?
Ugh, so my cell phone was stolen this past weekend while I was at work. What's sad is I didn't have a top of the line phone; it was a Blackberry 9670 Style for Sprint. Regardless, I am without a means of communication and am stuck with 10 months left on my contract.
As such, I'm looking to find a decent used/refurbished phone to purchase outright. Any suggestions, both for phones and where to buy? I have a budget of no more than $150, so no iPhone 64GB or Samsung Galaxy S II, sadly. Are eBay and Craigslist my only options?

Not necessarily. I know that US Cellular's corporate stores will sell used phones for up to 50% off, they're usually customer returns before the 30-day satisfaction guarantee. Sprint may do the same thing at their corporate stores. Also, check out the Sprint board on www.howardforums.com. Another option would be to look at Sprint "Authorized Dealers" they will generally buy and sell used phones.
Go to a Sprint store... Tell them your situation, you would be surprised how often they conveniently, "just happen" to have a used phone at the desk that they will sell for pretty cheap.
I actually got my refurb from Amazon.
you did let your phone co know it was stolen right? otherwise you are responsible if they keep calling 976#s or overseas calls etc.
If you have the insurance (Sprint $8 month), use it. If not, Amazon, ebay (be careful to look for clean ESN), Cowboom, Best Buy Private store. Google used sprint cell phones. You will come up with quite a few places.
FYI, BB Private store access is invite only. Can google invite info. Cowboom it the public BB auction site.
Having a daughter in middle school, the Sprint Family Locator tool has been an amazing utility in finding her phone. Thanks to that, we've found her phone left on the school bus, at the house, in my car at work, in my wife's car at work, etc.
http://www.sprint.com/familylocator is the URL. You can sign up for the first couple of weeks for free, and it's an additional $5 afterward.
Then, you can start harassing the person(s) who have the phone with "I know where you are" messages.
