Seen a great desktop PC for around $300? Show me please!
I just received my gorgeous 23" monitor from Sellout which replaced my 16" CRT elephant. Now I'm realizing I need a better PC worthy of this screen.
I currently have a very old desktop PC: Gateway with 512MB RAM and a Pentium 4 processor. I would like an upgrade within $300. I don't do much gaming on my PC (though I would like to be able to sign into WoW now and then if a moment of weakness strikes). I do a lot of graphics in Photoshop and Illustrator and I often work with very large files in Excel.
Sometimes my computer groans to a stall so I definitely need something with lots of RAM and a fast processor. Optional, and probably not possible in my price range, would be Windows 7 and maybe HDMI out?
Any help would be greatly appreciated! I'm open to refurbs.
feel free to use the search feature to look for things.

try searching ebay. in particular, search 'auctions@dealtree.com' (include titles and descriptions), and you can filter to display just PC's. I have no affiliation with dealtree, but i believe they are a best buy company. I bought two different 'used' emachines et1810-03 computers that look 100% brand new last month. I paid $120 for one, and $150 for the other, and they seem to work very well so far.
you might want to update the graphics card if you bought the same particular model, but that wouldn't set you back much.
oh, and just make sure to read the listing carefully.
@hobbit: After browsing for over an hour and seeing so many expired deals and irrelevant search results, I figured I might have better luck asking here. I completely overlooked the advanced search though. It does give me slightly better results - thanks!
@dlrkw9: Thanks for the suggestion. I will definitely check that seller out.
CNET has a good budget computer comparison - How about the Dell Zino? - http://reviews.cnet.com/desktops/dell-inspiron-zino-hd/4505-3118_7-33946471.html?tag=contentMain;contentBody
@tygerdave: Oh yeah, I was eyeing that but then after seeing all the optional upgrades, my final configured model was a bit over $600. Still not a bad price at all. Perhaps I should adjust my budget...

I snagged the listed Gateway from Bestbuy for just over $500 and it's a really nice machine.
I don't think that many of these are available. Probably not enough to post to the site as a deal. But it seems to be a good deal if you accept refurbs.
