To where in Florida? It's a big state and depending on where you want to go, sometimes it's much less hassle to drive.

Given the recent upsurge in fuel costs, I'm not sure that any past history of good deals will be much of a predictor for future deals, alas.

In general I find that Southwest has the best prices and most favorable policies on things like rebooking and baggage fees. I'm a little leery of traveling Southwest with the family, though. My wife hates to fly and I have three kids who I don't trust to sit on their own. I'd probably spend the extra ten bucks to get priority boarding...

If you're looking for a deal on flights to Orlando, allow me to suggest you fly to Tampa instead and drive - it's only about an hour and a half. You'll have better luck finding deals on flights to Tampa.

If you don't mind sifting through a lot of email, I sign up for flight alerts from Travelocity, Expedia and Virgin. Any time they have a price reduction on a flight that I'm considering I get an email.
