Usually you can find a good deal on military compasses at an Army-Navy surplus store.

Listen! Thanks for finding some great compasses, but it seems my companion opened up a random treasure chest in a dungeon we were tooling around in and came up with a compass!

@navilisten: Nice. We won't forget you for this. Trust me.

@shrdlu: Was this person wasting our time with a joke? Do I need to add him to my list of people whose deals I will never vote for and comments I will never vote up?

@mtrlgrl: Yes, he was indeed amusing himself (or herself), wasting the time of people who have the helpfulness inclination built in to their personality. I, on the other hand, have other things built in (and have been known to demonstrate this very fact, now and again).

I see that the little wanker has posted multiple deals that don't seem to get voted up. This little trick wasn't a way to change that. If there had at least been a tag, or other hint, that this was an amusement, we all could have played, and had a nice fun time, instead of truly annoying me.

@shrdlu: +1 for the quote. Definitely something you would say. Where is it from?

@lordwoot: The first one is some silly thing we used to use on Usenet, back in the day, when all that lord of the rings stuff was still fashionable. The other is little ol' me, but I've seen it plenty elsewhere, since.
