looks like some bizarre hybridization of the mazda+oldsmobile+mercury+hyundai+Daihatsu badge.

edit:could it be OPEL??????

vote-for3vote-against

The logo is not but I think it's a Volkswagon Tiguan.

If not, maybe a Buick? I can usually identify any car. But thats a good one.

looks kind of like number 4 on the top row...

It's a chinese car company

edit: I thinks it's a JAC Eagle!

I read a year or two ago that several chinese auto manufacturers we've never heard of were entering the european market, and planned to hit the US market too. They mostly seem to be knockoffs of already popular designs.

@jimrob27: Well, that's why I'm so confused as well -- I'm normally pretty good at this...

@kamikazeken: I think you're right! Now to find out what make/model it is...OK, well at least we've narrowed it down a little bit.

I tried Google Goggles on it and it couldn't figure it out and I tried just a automotive logo search, but nothing...decided to out-source it!
Thanks for the help so far!

It's a Kia Sportage.

If I had a Kia, I'd take the emblem off too. But that's just me.

@kamikazeken: Daihatsu lol, haven't heard that one in a loong time.

check out late model used crossovers/compact SUVs. My mom just bought a 2010 Ford escape, 30,000 miles, certified preowned (6yr 100,000 mile warranty), fully loaded for $17,000 out-the door. I've also seen some really nice 2000/2010 Chevys, toyotas, hondas, and really inexpensive KIA and Hyundais.

@smallbigtall: you got it, it's a KIA Sportage with a funky badge...
Could be the owner swapped out the badge, or one of those deals where another company markets the same vehicle with a different badge, like the way isuzu was selling a compact pickup that was identical to the chevy s-10 & gmc sonoma.

vote-for4vote-against

@smallbigtall is correct, my cousins just bought one over the weekend, has the exact tail lights in pics.

vote-for4vote-against

I can't even see the damn pic to weigh in as tinypic is blocked here. :(

vote-for4vote-against

@smallbigtall is correct. It's definitely a Kia. I think they either stopped using that logo, or it was only used on Kias made in certain countries.

@woothulhu: Sorry...it was one of the only services NOT blocked here...I suppose I could have tried flickr

vote-for2vote-against

I think it's the KIA with a JAC badge on it. Either that or JAC has come out with something nearly identical to the Sportage. I wouldn't put it past them.

EDIT: It's definitely a Sportage or a Sportage knockoff. Not sure about the badge. Maybe the dealer ordered some more "manly" badges for his KIAs.

Definitely an updated Edsel. :)

Those poor people, you just put their licence plate all over the web. now people can look them up to see who they are and they can sue you for a beech of privacy.

Always blur a licence plate if your not reporting some one.

vote-for1vote-against

there is no breech of privacy, they were in public. maybe there was a breech of public.

vote-for1vote-against

Unless @amoraluv actually meant a beech of privacy, like maybe a tree placed in front of an otherwise exposed area? Maybe the guy driving the Kia is a landscaper, otherwise I'm not sure why he'd seek reparations in the form of foliage

vote-for1vote-against

I meant breach of privacy. Since licence plates are a form of identification it can be a breach of privacy. All i'm saying is please blur the plate before posting on the web. Thank you.

Have a friend with a Kia Sportage. Very poor rear vision. Most cars/suv's think small, high back windows look cool. Give me more glass I say!
You'll be backing over the neighbor's cat in no time.

@stnickk: "You'll be backing over the neighbor's cat in no time!" `response` and that's a bad thing? I'm not sure if you're trying to sell me on one or not...

vote-for1vote-against

@amoraluv: yes, I easily could have blurred it beforehand -- thought about it after uploading...in the grand scheme of things though, I also don't really think it's that big of a deal...especially since (as before mentioned), it's not really a "private" thing...license plates are clearly visible (and are required to be by law) by ALL people...
Anyway, done arguing about it.

As far as backup visibility is concerned, I really like the rear view camera on my Taco.
Luckily, you can get them aftermarket for $60 or less...
