jackpot should hit $600 mil by drawing time.
Figure lump sum payout minus taxes and you're looking at about $265-$300 mil take-home pay.

In answer to your question, I'd visit the woot warehouse and buy every single wooter a BOC the next time they get listed.

Then I'd buy 10,000 screaming monkeys and contract to have a monkey gattling gun built that will shoot all 10,000 of them in rapid fire.

then I'd buy a yellow bumblebee-style camaro, and pay whatever it took to make a REAL TRANSFORMER.

edit: Oh, and I would move to texas before claiming the prize so I don't have to pay $10+ mil in california state income taxes.

How much does it cost to bribe the shirt.woot purchasing department to buy better fitting shirts instead?

vote-for6vote-against

@narfcake: I think you'd have a pretty decent leverage for bargaining. Amazon only spent $110 mil and they got the whole shebang.

vote-for7vote-against

@kamikazeken: The $540 Million is a estimate for drawing time, not how much it's at now. The cash option is $389 Million (before taxes).

vote-for6vote-against

More info... "your state's Department of Revenue removes the 25 percent federal withholding before you receive your winnings check"

See HERE for state withholdings and more info.

@kamikazeken: California doesn't have state tax on lottery prizes. So I suggest you don't move if you win.

So cash option winnings after tax (assume no state taxes) is $291.75 Million

vote-for6vote-against

@jsoko: the estimates are always low, and I'm assuming they're wayyyyyy low for this drawing. The lines at 7-11 were insane all day today. I've seen the frenzy at previous record totals, and this is crazier than those. I'll bet you $1 that the final prize amount will be closer to $600 mil than $540 mil.

I'd buy Woot, let @snapster run the whole thing still, but create a new account in which I'd trash talk this already existing account constantly. Those who came to my side would be rewarded with coupon codes and free BoC's, while those who encouraged or even joined in on the trash talking would be banned for life. I'd also mess with certain users in various ways, like letting @cowboydann make his predictions, and then go completely in the opposite direction of what he prophesied. I'd also get better fitting shirts for shirt.woot, but send the bad fitting one's to @narfcake, because I don't take bribes ;-).

Also, it's important for you to know that I'm kinda evil.

vote-for3vote-against

@kamikazeken: Fair enough... we will see tomorrow... err today!

vote-for10vote-against

i would bring back WOOT CLUE and make it show up as a square on the side like the other woots. then everyone who participates would get a BOC for the first week and the BOCs would have a bunch of random 55" 1080p 3D LED TVs, brand new Dysons, and real live monkeys with airholes and lettuce so they don't die
i'd perma-ban spammers and schillers with whatever it takes, and have random item giveaways from deals.woot posted deals

YOU get a The Jerk DVD and YOU get a The Jerk DVD!

vote-for5vote-against

@kamikazeken: How about ten thousandth of a dollar bet? (The value of coupons!)

vote-for4vote-against

I would buy $108 million bags of crap (plus shipping)

vote-for4vote-against

@vistaseas: No, you get to pay full price. For one April 1st, they did list the BOC at $1,000,000.

@captainsuperdawg: I can't see how you can be any more evil than what's happening now. I mean, the new blanks are fine, other than the oversized sleeves and shoulder, the boat neck, the shorter length ...

vote-for3vote-against

I would like to think I could handle it, but I'm guessing that this would ruin the life of the winner within 1-2 years.

vote-for7vote-against

Might be dumb ideas, but as long as we're just talking crazy woot-related stuff....

I would hire a team of folks to use my account to find/post deals, ask/answer questions, tattle, and vote up/down deals and questions so that I could dominate the Leaderboard for a month, maybe more.

I would also hire someone to design and create a crass or risque picture on shirt.woot for a random derby, pay off another group of people to up/vote and win the derby, and then keep that shirt in the reckoning for as long as possible. I would either do that..., or just buy every shirt to knock Nevermore finally off the Reckoning. Or choose another shirt like the Binge and just keep it in the Reckoning for as long as possible.

Or pay a licensing fee to DC/Warner Brothers to bring back the Dark Knight t-shirt that was pulled earlier this year.

vote-for5vote-against

@jsoko: The chart you linked to is the tax witholdings not the tax liability. In April you then have to declare your winnings as income and pay the difference. Federal tax rate on income is 35% they withheld 25% you will owe an additional 10%. Same with your state.

vote-for2vote-against

U only get 230 million , NOW I'm Not Playing

vote-for2vote-against

@captainsuperdawg: Hehe, "bizarro captainsuperdawg" (Seinfeld reference)

vote-for4vote-against

I'd offer Amazon twice what they paid and BUY WOOT!!! I'd sill have a few million left too.

vote-for7vote-against

1) Buy woot.
2) Move HQ back to Texas. I like the sun, and don't like hipsters.
3) Two words: daily podcast.
4) Free flying monkeys to all my woot friends!! Both of you.
5) Spend irresponsibly long periods of time with WineDavid on junkets, er, I mean, fact finding tours of California winerys.
6) Nationwide Wine.woot meet ups.
7) Start either beer.woot.com or (more likely) booze.woot.com.

vote-for3vote-against

@wilfbrim: HQ is still in Texas, unless I missed something drastic?

vote-for2vote-against

I would purchase the ranking/rep system and throw the questions part right out the window. I would still keep the questions and chat, but that's all they would be.

vote-for4vote-against

Jackpot is now at $640 million....

vote-for3vote-against

I'm starting to wonder at what point you win the lottery and just start your own country.

Or buy a team that isn't the Dodgers.

vote-for3vote-against

See? I told you the estimated $540 was nowhere near the total, but even I didn't expect $640... Probably go even higher by tonight.

vote-for2vote-against

@kamikazeken: I've heard estimates over 700 and at this rate I'm sure it's totally possible. Also heard by the amount of tickets purchased statistically someone HAS to win tonight-more tickets have been sold than possible combinations, but you may as well tear your ticket up because it's totally me who won! ;)
