I took Wednesday off since my kids are out of school, so today is Monday, which usually isn't productive and that makes tomorrow Friday, also not really productive. So yeah, I am wondering why I am at work. At least there's a woot off to occupy me and help me not work.

Nope, there's only a few people out this week. Most people in my office take off 2-3 weeks in December though, so until then I'll be happily working away and bettering society.

We are only allowed to have one or two people out at a time in each section. So out of our four person section, two of us are here today and there will be three of here tomorrow and Wednesday. We are required to cover the office from 7am-6pm, so the other person came in at 7 and I will be working till 6. It would definitely be noticed if I disappeared. In fact I can't even schedule any out of the office site visits or meetings between 4pm-6pm when I am the only one covering our section. I am actually getting a lot of work done today, it's busy period for us and I always have a mailbox full of small fires that started over the weekend on Mondays. But I also use my email and D.W as a frequent mental break device and dip into one or the other every hour or so to refresh my mind.

Sigh. I am ready to go, but 2 more days of work beckon. At least it will be quiet...

This week always feels that way.

I'm amongst those working through Wednesday this week. I'll probably bug out a little early on Wednesday afternoon, once I get my hours in (I'm salary but still have to work at least 40 hours/week). If all goes well, things will get quieter and quieter as the week goes on. If things don't go well, we'll be cursing our coworker who we need to help fix things but who were smart enough to get out of town and not take their security key ring thingies with them so they can't get onto the network remotely. So far we're good to go on quiet. Here's to hoping that continues.

At least the Wootoff gives those of us at work something to do to pass the time..........

I will be missed as I am the only person in my area this week. On the plus side, I am taking of 3.5 weeks during Christmas so I should be looking forward to that.

@conanthelibrarian: Wow, I am hoping to be the one in my section allowed to take off 3 days!

Yes I am working this week and wooting only on my own time.
If I left it would be very noticeable.
To answer the question, yes, I do wonder why I am working.

Yes, I wonder why I work., then I open the mail and see why. Boo. Yes I would be missed and I better have a real good excuse for not working.

I am working all except Thursday. I have to woot on my own time other than sneak peeks at my smartphone.

The only reason I work period is because my job pays the bills here. I get Thursday off but I have to be back at it for Friday and Saturday. If I took off I would be greatly missed, yet I am not greatly rewarded. However, I DO have a job and I am grateful for that.
