Can you help with this Sherlock Holmes-type animal problem?
We put a catflap in the stormdoor to our sunroom for our cat to have a place to keep dry & eat if she spends the night outside. The sunroom is attached to the house, but separated from it by a good outside door--no access for the cat to the house itself. As soon as we put in the cat flap and food, we discovered all the food gone in the morning, two cat treat bags slashed open (not gnawed, just one long slash each), & stuff knocked off a table. Our cat had been inside, so we knew it was another animal. Next night, we locked the cat flap. In the morning the food was gone. The next night, we locked the storm door itself. Again, the food was gone. All the windows have screens and secure windows, all untouched. The sunroom itself has no visible holes anywhere. I know mice can get into quarter-sized spaces, but it’s no mouse that slashed the foil treat bags or knocked down a water pitcher. What’s your take on this? It seems I’ll need a security camera to figure this one out. ???
