Someone's gotta start a Roomba-based version of BattleBots in Woot HQ... that someone is clearly me. I assume the lack of a posting for this opportunity was a momentary lapse.

My dream job is to be retired so that I can volunteer more of my time. Unfortunately, being a member of this site doesn't help, as I spend my retirement almost faster than I put it in the account. Being an employee of Woot definately would not help. I am able to resist a lot of things I can not see/touch personally.

Somebody should go ahead and write an ode to the poor soul who takes that print production manager position. They'll either be revered as a hero, or be run off by one of these angry pitchfork mobs we keep hanging around over here.

I remember seeing this question before. My answer then was:

Tugboat Repairman

@cengland0: Ah see, but that question was merely hypothetical posing. This question is based upon real world information.

(Sigh) No HR positions posted, dang it!

Too bad Dallas is not where I live.

@ki4rxm: That print production manager would be a hero if
(1) QC is resolved.
(2) Good blanks! None of that lose 2-3/4" in length after a wash or gigantic neckhole, please! I buy ML for a reason, not MS! Oh, and country of origin matters too, BTW.

I'm confident that I could manage the logistics of almost any of those jobs, remotely, from here in Brazil.

I've applied twice, in the past, with no response. I thought that maybe my diverse resume, ability to learn both Chinese and Portuguese, while running the international relations department and managing finances in an office of non-english speakers, for a company grossing well over 8 figures a year, and still maintaining a strong level of participation on the woot sites and a regular spot on the leaderboard would get their attention.

Meh, maybe they're looking for more mediocre, less-interesting workers. They seem to conform better anyway :P

@dmaz: "more mediocre, less-interesting workers"
Well, got me in a nutshell right there.

vote-for7vote-against

@dmaz "ability to learn both Chinese and Portuguese"
is your resume filled with all the stuff you have the potential to do?

vote-for3vote-against

@wootfast: Thanks! I just spit pie on my keyboard.

vote-for3vote-against

@wootfast: Why? Do you guys not take one's potential abilities seriously?

I'm half-way to completely fluency on both. More rough patches with Chinese, but it's happening.

I hope you don't take offense...my comment was meant to tease rather than accuse. That and the little bit of bitterness that comes from rejection, burried down deep in the bowels of my fragile heart. @inkycatz usually understands me pretty well :)

I'm gunning for Monte's position.

@dmaz: Most of the time! :D

Creative writer or copy writer. Sadly, no positions open and I missed my chance last time.

@ki4rxm: woot's hiring a new print production manager? Sounds like @j5's assessment of the "source of the problems" may have been correct! :p

@neuropsychosocial: Listing- Print Production Manager (Woot Services LLC, Dallas, TX)
Are you the sort of strong leader who can build an outstanding team? Yeah? Well, then slide over here, buddy or budette. Because we're looking for a Print Production Manager for our rapidly growing screen printing operation. If that's you, you'll be managing all aspects of apparel decoration in a manner that results in accuracy, timeliness and profitability. The catch? You can't compromise company standards for quality. Ideally, you'll have 5+ years of experience managing a production workforce. Is that you? Yeah? Well, well, well. Looks like we might have ourselves an applicant.

"The catch? You can't compromise company standards for quality."

Does this mean You can't compromise company standards (whatever they are) in favor of quality?
Reads that way.
