I use the cheapest electric so I excuse myself from this debate.

I used to have a Poulan that I liked and worked quite well. Well, until it was stolen.

I haven't needed a chainsaw since it was stolen, so I haven't researched them - much less bought one - since.

Stihl. Better anti-vibration. Anti-vibe gloves are okay, but it's not the same as having it on the hardware.

I have two Huskies and one Stihl... and I would have to go with Stihl...

My dad and I have cut possibly thousands (hundreds for sure) of cords of wood using his Stihl chainsaw when I was at home. That thing is one of the best saws he has ever owned. If I bought a chainsaw, I'd buy a Stihl.

Be sure to get an old style hockey mask to wear too.

I don't often use a chainsaw, but when I do, I want it to be a Stihl.

If I had the money, I'd get the Stihl. I don't have the money, ergo I drive a Husky.

Makita/Dolmar. Has metal engine cases on their homeowner-grade saws where Stihl and Husky use plastic.

I am a Stihl guy. I have had several Stihl units, including weed whackers and have been happy. I did, however, purchase the recent Home-Woot-Off Hitachi chainsaw despite the marginal reviews. It hasn't arrived, so I do not regret my purchase yet.
