Yes I did! Thank you for posting. Hopefully Woot won't delete the "deal" so more people are able to see it. These bills will potentially have an effect on Woot after all.

vote-for12vote-against

I have now. Thanks!

btw: I wonder if woot's traffic is up today because of Reddit being closed from 8am-8pm...

vote-for5vote-against

@capguncowboy: I wouldn't doubt that it was and Definitely Woot will be affected if this bill gets passed. Its too bad they will be affected too cause its one of the few sites that I check everyday. which includes Wikipedia. BTW you should check out Wikipedia

vote-for8vote-against

Yes I did. And I posted to FB, G+ & Twitter.

These laws would have a HUGE impact if passed, but only as an obstacle for average users and small business owners. Several non-pirating businesses would have to close their doors if this legislation were to pass.

I liked that the Wiki Blackout shows your local Senators and Reps after putting in your zip. I plan on doing some snail mail here in MN. I have also posted things on FB and G+...I hope people are paying attention. Sadly most of my friends don't have a clue. :\

vote-for6vote-against

Yep. It was the second thing I did this morning.

vote-for4vote-against

I had signed up already and posted to Facebook and Twitter

vote-for4vote-against

Totally signed the petition! And have convinced most of my office as well!

vote-for4vote-against

I tweeted my local representatives instead.

vote-for5vote-against

Yep I signed
I like most things the way they are
and would hate to see Woot! affected

vote-for6vote-against

More importantly, contact your senators and representatives! They're the ones who will be doing the fighting on the hill and voting. And if they're for it, let them know that their constituents are against it and that vox populi vox dei.

vote-for0vote-against

I signed it, but man...I hope this doesn't put me on some kind of "watch list"
I wouldn't put it past our government.

vote-for0vote-against

I am against SOPA but I am more against being put on a watch list. I don't know who the man is but I fear him and he is watching.

vote-for4vote-against

yep, even sent out some snail mail! it was nostalgic in a way :)

vote-for8vote-against

Keep it up folks! 4 Senators have officially abandoned PIPA. Give your reps and senators a ring, since emails to congressmen have been so intense, many of those pages have gone down. (http://gizmodo.com/5877185/pipa-co+sponsor-abandons-his-awful-bill-updated-four-down)

The big dog is still supporting his bill. I implore those of you in Nevada (and everyone else) to give Senator Reid a ring!

vote-for4vote-against

Yes I have, and i've left a message at mr. Goodlattes office
Thankfully Mark Warner continues to be awesome and opposes SOPA

unsure where your rep stands?

@meh3884: Who is the big dog? Do you mean Obama?

Obama is against the current iteration of SOPA and PIPA which is going to get him into trouble with his Hollywood and the entertainment donors.

vote-for5vote-against

I signed it earlier today and posted it on Facebook and Twitter. It better not pass!

vote-for5vote-against

Signed, Facebooked and tweeted.

vote-for5vote-against

@first2summit: I believe he's referring to Senator Reid

"Signing an anti-SOPA petition will NOT get anyone put on an enemy list. And it will DEFINITELY NOT get you a one-way ticket to Gitmo under the new NDAA extrajudicial detention rules. Trust me. Would I lie?

Your Friend,
The U.S. Government"

vote-for2vote-against

@first2summit: @capcuncowboy is right, I'm referring to PIPA bill co-sponsor and senate majority leader Harry Reid D-NV.

For further refernce, from Wikipedia, here is a list of PIPA co-sponsors

Lamar Alexander, Kelly Ayotte, Michael F. Bennet, Jeff Bingaman, Richard Blumenthal, Roy Blunt, John Boozman, Barbara Boxer, Sherrod Brown, Benjamin L. Cardin, Robert P. Casey Jr., Saxby Chambliss, Thad Cochran, Christopher A. Coons, Bob Corker, Richard Durbin, Michael B. Enzi, Dianne Feinstein, Al Franken, Kirsten E. Gillibrand, Lindsey Graham, Chuck Grassley, Kay Hagan, Orrin G. Hatch, Johnny Isakson, Tim Johnson, Amy Klobuchar, Herb Kohl, Mary L. Landrieu, Joseph I. Lieberman, John McCain, Robert Menendez, Bill Nelson, James E. Risch, Marco Rubio, Charles E. Schumer, Jeanne Shaheen, Tom Udall, David Vitter, Sheldon Whitehouse, and Jerry Moran

Some of these really break my heart. Ugh, Gillibrand...Schumer...wtf??? My home state fail :(

vote-for3vote-against

I'm pretty hopeful that this will get vetoed. With the election impending, Obama will want to make a few people-pleasing moves to increase his popularity. If it passes, he'd better veto it. For his own good!

vote-for3vote-against

For those afraid of getting on the watchlist, remember:
"All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing."

vote-for2vote-against

@meh3884: Thanks. I don't get how the Dems from CA are for this. Maybe I don't know my local politics or there's some positioning for some deals to be made later on. Maybe it's that they're going with their donors.

vote-for2vote-against

@first2summit: It is a bit disturbing. It appears the lobbyists managed to get money into pockets on both sides of the aisle.

One of my reps, Rep Inslee, of Seattle has been given over 300k by pro SOPA donors vs. 90k by anti SOPA donors.
