That really depends on what you are looking for in your tablet. If you just want standard reading and web usage i'd get a nook color for about 200, if you want more out of it as far as specs for more intesive app usage, i'd go for a samsung which is around 400, if you want something as functional as the samsung but want to pay twice as much for it, you could get the ipad2

i was thinking a bit more hypothetically. hp's are going for 230 on ebay. i think tablet makers are pricing themselves out of a lot of sales.

This is a good question. I don't know much about these things but I see that deals get posted from China all the time. It seems like if you would like to buy a cheap tablet, it would be a roll of the dice.

I think a theoretical good price that I would like would be around 250-300 for a good tablet.
