Do you use a cookie eliminator on your computer?
I've had Cookie Wall forever. Currently have 38 urls (related cookies) set to get deleted. As of today, Cookie Wall has killed over 38,150 cookies. Yes, I know the program's really old, and only works on Windows. Yet it somehow gives me pleasure to know that I've dodged over 38,000 cookies on my computer. I think I've avoided computer clutter & saved some space.
And, I no longer have a problem w/tracking cookies. A few years ago I had a recurring problem w/Overstock.com. They insisted that their cookies were only used to track items in the cart. Odd, since I had nothing in the cart & every time I would visit I got tracking cookies. My spyware program found them after every visit. Ended up putting them on the list of 38.
Of course, I do have virus/spyware software, too. But feel that this is a 1st strike & avoidance program. Maybe a false sense of security? Am I just easily impressed or is it really helpful to eliminate cookies? Do you use anything like this?
