you mods are no fun. i mean you are. but my tags weren't hurtin' nobody :)

vote-for3vote-against

I'm rooting for them all to be 7-game series, and picking Vancouver to win it all.

My team's been out since, well, 2007. Thrashers.

vote-for2vote-against

@brandie346: my husband's team is the Colorado Avalanche, which has been out pretty much since they won the cup last. his second favorite team is the Minnesota Wild, who hasn't done well either. it happens lol

Red Wings, FTW!!!

If it can't be the Wings, I hope it's the Capitals. Anyone, but the Habs...

vote-for3vote-against

@unclefrog: the Red Wings are the one team I don't want it to be. i inherited a "hatred" of the Red Wings since Avalanche fans hate them and hubby's an Avs fan. i say hatred in quotes because i don't, ya know, personally hate them. Though Bertuzzi does seem like a douche. can you say douche on Deals.Woot!?

vote-for3vote-against

@smtatertot13: You have to take Bertuzzi with a grain of salt. I definitely do not approve of some of the game play 'issues' he's had in the past, but he's a grinder on defense and is key to the team. I won't hold the Av's thing against you... your husband on the other hand... was he excited about Forsberg's mighty return? (jab, jab) :-P

vote-for4vote-against

I was an Avs fan when I first started watching the game. It was when they beat FLA in the finals in, what, double OT? That was the first finals I watched and I liked the Avs until the Thrashers came to town.

Otherwise I'll watch any game that's on.

vote-for3vote-against

@unclefrog: Bertuzzi's definitely a key to the team, for sure. i think that being aggressive is to be applauded. however, being an asshat and trying intentionally to hurt people is another. (Firefox doesn't think "asshat" is a word. i disagree.)

i said all season that i'd be happy if the Blackhawks just made it to the playoffs, even if we lost immediately. i was kidding :(

@brandie346: we watch every game that our cable package will let us. in playoff season, that's 2 games each weekday and 3 games each weekend day. it's AWESOME :D

I'm rooting for hockey to go away for the one month of downtime we get. Jeez you guys take up a lot of Sportscenter. :)

vote-for4vote-against

@woothulhu: well it ain't going anywhere, so you're SOL :p

vote-for3vote-against

I am not a huge hockey aficionado but I am rooting for the Montreal Canadiens (As that is where I'm from) Go Habs go! :P

vote-for3vote-against

I'm in the Chicago area so I have to say "Go Blackhawks!" Reality sets in, and I realize I'm going to have to find someone else to root for soon. I'll have to think on that for awhile. The Blackhawks run to the Stanley Cup was so much fun last year. I may just lose interest until next year. Sports fans in Chicago are experts in waiting for next year.

vote-for3vote-against

@smtatertot13: On the contrary, after the playoffs, we get the sweet spot when there will be no NBA basketball or hockey on ESPN for almost two months.

And i seem to remember a time a couple years ago it was gone for almost a full year. I was okay with that.

vote-for3vote-against

@meyerk0: indeed. being a Chicago fan is all about disappointment and hope for the future lol

The Bulls are kicking a bit of ass this year, which is exciting except that I totally don't follow basketball.

i know that the Bulls were pissed at the Blackhawks for making it to the playoffs - they didn't want to have to schedule everything into the United Center. too bad :)

vote-for3vote-against

1) Pens
2) Flyers
3) anyone playing the habs
4) anyone playing the capitals

As an east coast person, I can't seem to dislike western teams. I have a love/hate feeling for the wings. Great passers and puck control team, but a terrible fan base :) Going to a playoff game this weekend:) I like the hawks, but that is more due to their old teams with chelios and smith and - they were fun to watch.

Some people like christmas, but hockey fans know that this is the most wonderful time of the year. Hockey every day multiple games full of intense hatred.

For the person who said that we take up the one down month, football has been over for awhile now. Unless your talking about golf, I don't know of any other sport played but hockey, football, MMA, boxing, and of course rugby and soccer.

vote-for2vote-against

Well, the Hawks have surprised me tonight so far...They're actually playing like it's the Playoffs now. Too bad it'll be too little, too late. At least it won't be a sweep lol

vote-for2vote-against

@smtatertot13: nothing like replying to yourself about a team no one cares about. sorry, but the "edit" thing ended hours ago. the game ended at 7-2 to the Hawks, which was AWESOME.

I know we won't win the series, and so we are out of the playoffs, but this big win was definitely fun to watch. Thanks Hawks!

vote-for2vote-against

@smtatertot13: But they weren't swept! At least we have that to hang onto. As I said to my friends last night, "Where were all those goals when we needed them? When they meant something?"

vote-for1vote-against

anyone shocked/pissed/elated that the Blackhawks have forced the 7th game?!

I'm both shocked and elated, myself. I don't expect us to win the 7th game, but how freakin' cool is it that we made it as the 8th?

Other teams of a higher ranking have already been eliminated - GO BLACKHAWKS!

vote-for1vote-against

Seventh game baby, going on now. LET'S GO HAWKS!
