Meh. Nice of him to confess, but it doesn't affect me either way.

I don't always use the maps app, but when I do, I prefer a map that has streets on it. I'm not going to upgrade to iOS 6 until it's patched.

Possible irreparable damage. However, MS would have called it a feature, not a problem.

Since Google Maps is the best non military mapping in the history of mankind, it made no sense to not include it. The apology is a little too little and too late. Sales do not seem affected much, but this whole thing seems unlike Apple and the "it just works" mantra.

I like this one that @Iggz posted...

How do devs not find stuff like that when they test it? I know the world is big... but was there no test group?

@morriea: Agreed. Do you think Steve Jobs would have put it out with all its problems, my guess, probably not?

@luvche21: There was probably a rush to get this out, seems like that led to very shoddy work on their part. Almost seems like they decided one day that they weren't going to include Google maps in iOS anymore and apple maps was created, very uncharacteristic of apple...

Not a fan of Apple Maps. Haven't heard the outcry, though. I just know that last week I searched for "laundry" and it brought up a local financial firm. Money laundering, perhaps? Got a good laugh out of it, but didn't think it was worth a huge fuss.

I consider it a big deal for the mere fact that people shell out a decent amount of money to the apple machine for the latest and greatest and should expect something as standard as mapping (in this day and age) to be accurate. Major cities landmarks should not be wrong -- at the very least. Hell, you can't even load up a .pdf map from the internet if you needed to fall back on that as an option.

Not surprised with the Google relationship crap. Not just maps, but YouTube on the latest update iOS is all jacked up. Oh yea, Google owns YouTube.

And I'm only using an iPod Touch. I'm only expereincing a fraction of the issues.
