are bumper stickers a thing of the past?
I was sitting in traffic this morning and I saw a car that had 10 assorted bumper stickers on it. The guy was promoting witchcraft.....
As I looked around everyone else pretty much had giant car magnets or those window stickers of thier family on the back window.
Had this convo the other day - lots of people seem to be more into the 'window cling' instead of stickers. Probably helps with resell/trade-in value.
Uh oh...am I off the fashion yet again? I got 3 on my car.
@pamfenway: Nah, it's your car, do what you want. :D
@pamfenway: From the username, now I'm wondering if yours might be that one car left in Boston with stickers on it. :P
(I kid. Heck, there's a car down my street that appears to practically be constructed out of the things.)
had a teacher once that encourage people to cover his car in bumper stickers. he believed that if you were active enough in politics to use a bumper sticker, then he was doing his job well. when asked what color his car was his answer was "yes". he had no clue what the color was under 12 years of political bumperstickers.
no, i don't believe in bumperstickers because i don't want my car keyed over a sticker.
@psaux: I wondered what you meant there for a minute! I was behind a car in Boston the other day with a crazy number of bumper stickers on it. But there sure are a lot of cars here with bumper stickers for something or another. BTW, is it ok to cut off the cars with political messages you don't agree with? People here pretty much cut everyone off anyway, so I guess this is acceptable, right?
Dude, it's an election year. Just wait for everyone on the road to get new Obama, Romney or Paul stickers and leave them on for years regardless of who wins.
Why hasn't someone invented the equivalent of a digital picture frame for bumper stickers?
@curtisuxor: they have. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NxU4jAnv1hg
they also make license plate frames that scroll various messages you pre-program.
@kamikazeken: I've seen the window-mounted text scrolls before and actually played with one. Sadly, they come with filters for most dirty words. Never saw the license plate ones though, that's pretty neat.
I was talking about a "digital sticker" that will cycle through manually uploaded "sticker pictures". Red text just seems so boring, especially if you aren't allowed to use bad words.
@psaux: So you've seen me! lol
I just saw someone with a Pawlenty 2012 bumper sticker a couple days ago. It made me laugh.
