Malted Milk Balls, Black Licorice, anything Fruit Punch flavored..yuk!

vote-for1vote-against

It has to be Black Licorice and add in hte fact that it tastes like Ouzo and that makes it even worse.

My worst candy ever has got to be scandinavian Tyrkisk Peber (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tyrkisk_Peber). It's a liquorice flavoured candy filled with ammonium chloride and ground pepper.

My German friend (or maybe frenemy?) tricked me into trying one.
"It's delicious," he said. I nearly lost my lunch it was so disgusting. And the unpleasantness remained long after the candy had been expelled from my maw.

With such glowing recommendations online as "The burn on your tongue will linger for a while, but it's not that unpleasant. Not recommended for children!" and "It's hard to say what the flavour is like... Salty battery acid?", it's truly a small wonder there's still a thriving market for this stuff.

The flavor of malt balls makes me gag.
Ditto on everyone who said black licorice... and NO banana or candy-grape flavored junk (genuine grape flavor is fine).

vote-for1vote-against

Black licorice and Tootsie Rolls.

vote-for1vote-against

fake strawberry hard candies. ya know, the ones that come in wrappers that look vaguely like strawberries? always tasted like cough syrup to me.

I'm also not a fan of mint and chocolate.

vote-for2vote-against

I can't stand malted milk balls, or anything with crispies in it like Crunch bars. The texture/sound they make gross me out.

vote-for3vote-against

Anything with peanut butter in it, as I am deathly allergic.

Call me picky, but I have a bit of disdain for anything which causes me to suffocate and die.

vote-for3vote-against

@rprebel: I suppose a comma or period might have helped as well but I suck at life.

vote-for1vote-against

@gideonfrost: ROFL...I skimmed the top part of your response, but when I saw "all black people mistakenly refer to twizzlers as licorice" I did a double take. Wha-wha-WHAT? Anyway, you're right. I just wanted to avoid the "what about twizzlers" question, so I specified black licorice.

Twizzlers aren't half bad. They're not half good, but they're not half bad either. They're 13% good, 13% bad, and 74% meh. And 0% licorice.

vote-for3vote-against

@rprebel: point of interest black licorice is redundant because licorice is the flavor so licorice is all black people mistakenly refer to twizlers as licorice.

vote-for3vote-against

@darthemerald: There's a dessert/desert joke in there somewhere, but I can't find it.

Necco wafers are gross, I'm with you on that.

vote-for3vote-against

I also do not enjoy the excessively chalky candies like the valentines little hearts or those NECCO wafers (imagine chalky, tasteless quarter sized disks) MY MOUTH WAS DRY LIKE A DESERT

vote-for2vote-against

@rprebel: AGREED black licorice! How does that work??

vote-for1vote-against

I absolutely can't stand even the smell of black licorice let alone the taste!

vote-for1vote-against

Anything with white chocolate. White chocolate is not chocolate.

vote-for0vote-against

So glad to hear that I'm not the only person in the world who hates black licorice. Urgh! I know that some people love the stuff, but the taste makes me physically ill. As someone mentioned, the colors of some candies mislead me into accidently eating a licorice flavored one. Blah!

vote-for0vote-against

Among some others already mentioned, I hatehatehate Watermelon flavor (especially gum, blecch), and largely dislike Blackcurrant flavor stuff (although this is much less common here in the US, it's pretty common in my husband's imported English candies, and I always forget and eat them thinking they are grape (one of my favorites), and then run to a trash can to spit it out). I also really don't like anything mint flavored or anise flavored.

vote-for3vote-against

Twizzlers are pretty gross to me. I actually like normal black liqorice though.

vote-for3vote-against

@stupimlico: Circus peanuts was going to be my go-to answer....

vote-for3vote-against

Almond Joy- wasting perfectly good chocolate by putting nuts and coconut in it

vote-for5vote-against

peeps and circus peanuts, gag!

vote-for1vote-against

Anything with the consistency of jellybeans (this includes corn candy, Skittles, etc), and anything with the consistency of Swizzlers. I dislike anything that tastes like licorice, too.

Also anything marshmallowy, to include Peeps, meringue (hand-whipped cream FTW on my banana icebox pie) and Sta-Puft marshmallows.

Yeah, that's 2.5 classes of candy on my shizlist. More for the rest of you.

vote-for2vote-against

Chocolate malt balls. YUCK!

vote-for6vote-against

Candy corn. It tastes neither like candy nor corn, so why do they call it that?

vote-for4vote-against

@woothulhu: OMG those popcorn tasting jelly beans are the worse. I almost threw up eating one.

vote-for5vote-against

@jimmyd103: tried it. still gross. If I turn them into peeping smores their not bad, but on their own is ewwy

vote-for8vote-against

I had the unfortunate experience of trying the crazy Jelly Bellies, and i may never eat another jelly bean in my life because of it.

The pack came with two types of beans, the good and the bad. Each good color had a bad counterpart, and the pack came with a spinner to decide your fate.

I spun chocolate pudding/canned dog food. Guess which one I picked.

I have never had a flavor stay in my mouth that long, and i swear i can still taste it just thinking about it now...

/shudder

Red vines. Those things are disgusting, they just taste like dry wax flavoured with artificial sweetener. Like diet soda. why do people love them so much? Uggghh.

vote-for3vote-against

I don;t like hard candies that are just sweet. They have to be tart or at least have a strong flavor of some kind.

vote-for2vote-against

@amoraluv: You have to let them sit out for a few months to get good hard and stale. Frozen isn't so bad either. I had dark chocolate dipped ones that were pretty good.

vote-for4vote-against

Peanut Chews and anything tasting like anise (black licorice). My worst experience has been with jelly bean brands that don't stick to the standard flavor color combination. How is it possible that one purple bean has a fruit flavor, you eat another and you get licorice???? I thought it was fruit jbs versus spice jbs. But not so..

vote-for6vote-against

marshmellow peeps are gross

vote-for3vote-against

@moosezilla: I also had a Jolly Rancher take out a filling once. Got it refilled, and then the tooth (a baby tooth) fell out 2 months later. You might be right about the salt/sweet thing. Yes, I have tried the dark chocolate ones. I prefer them to the milk chocolate ones, but they aren't my favorite.

vote-for4vote-against

@moosezilla: I realize that not everyone agrees on what's good and what's bad, but your dh is categorically insane.

vote-for4vote-against

@thefenst: i think it is that you need the salt to offset the sweet of the chocolate. have you tried the dark chocolate m&ms?

vote-for2vote-against

@lpgstock: i had jolly ranchers take out a filling. i finished the candy and stuck the filling back in temporarly.

there are so many to choose from. i'll second the black licorice and add black jellybeans. coconut is also yuck. as are peeps (for some reason i don't like anything with marshmellows).

dh says those things that you get at christmas that are wrapped to look like strawberries. use to come in nets full of assorted bulk candies.

vote-for3vote-against

Yellow and orange. Red, pink, and blue are totally better!

vote-for4vote-against

Anything candy banana. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the actual fruit, but totally disgusted with fake candy banana. Does not matter what brand candy it is either!

vote-for0vote-against

While black licorice or anything with coconut would be at the top of my list, I'd have to say chocolate covered cherries.

vote-for2vote-against

Sugar Daddys and Gummy Bears... Arch enemies of all dental work! Great for pulling out those old fillings!

vote-for3vote-against

I really don't like regular M&Ms. Not sure why. I like the peanut, almond, and pretzel ones though.

vote-for8vote-against

Peeps - I don't really like them, but I eat them anyways

vote-for3vote-against

There are so many it is hard to decide, but many are featured here:
http://www.bad-candy.com/

My (un)favorite: cotton candy, which is just sugar.

vote-for30vote-against

Black licorice. How in the world that vile concoction was ever labeled as candy is beyond me.
