I LOVE coast to coast AM the radio show that talks about everything awesome...and to this day I'm still very interested in the space exploration discussions. I hope that someday I will be rich (provided I am allowed to under the current political system) and will be able to charter a flight into space!!! I can't wait to see the earth from above!

Note that you have to be willing to travel (haha) among other things.

Got to learn to speak Russian and know how to swim. Dang, so much for that dream.

Oh, gee, we love everything about space. We're the family outside in the frigid winter or sweltering summer nights waiting for the space station to pass overhead. We drove all the way down the East Coast to Florida to go to a space shuttle launch. (truly spectacular). We've been to the Smithsonian at Dulles Airport to see the space shuttle there. Go up in space? No chance. I've always told all of my kids they can be whatever they want to be when they grow up - that the whole world is open to them - but that I would strongly prefer they remain where there is a readily available supply of oxygen. I won't be forwarding any of them this link... thanks anyway!

I wanted to be an astronaut. I would go into space in a heartbeat and would love to walk on the Moon despite the inherent risks.

I wanted to be an astronaut for many, many years. Probably like third through 10th grade or so. I went to Space Camp three times as a kid (paid for it myself each time. And it's not a cheap camp.). I dreamed of being weightless and walking on the moon, doing experiments and looking back on the Earth.

My career path changed when I realized that the selection process is incredibly tiny and required at minimum either a PhD in some science field or going into the military and becoming a fighter pilot. Okay, those aren't the requirements to apply, but to have a chance of a chance of being selected those are pretty much the minimums. And since I wasn't interested in either of those two options and going down that route with the slim chance of getting into the astronaut corps didn't seem like a good option to me, I set my sites on an engineering degree that would allow me to design space ships. Never did get there, but I do design fighter jets now, which is almost as cool.

Yes, after watching the movie Space Camp. I was in lust with that 80's looking girl.. Unfortunately the real space camp was way out of my mother's budget :(

As a young child I wanted nothing else but to be an astronaut when I grew up. The boredom of middle school science killed my dreams dead.
