My favorite cheap place to eat is?
Fast-food, take-out or Dine-In? Does not matter, name your favorite cheap place to eat!
Hot N' Ready Pizzas are my Favie!
I recently discovered Panda Express has hot and sour soup for $1.50.
Otherwise, Taco Bell. sigh
Pizza place by my work... I can get a fantastic slice of NY-style pizza for 2 bucks, and, recently discovered, a blue moon draft for 3.50.
I go to the gas station (Valero is the Best) and get a cheese stuffed hot dog with chili and cheese on top for $1.50 it’s pretty AWESOME
Costco on a weekend. Yeah, it's going to be crowded, but after a few rounds, you can get a small meal out of all the various free samples.
Home , I like to cook.
@jeffyn: Same here. Today I made an awesome chunky pasta sauce from scratch.
Tastes great and only costs around $1 per serving (including the pasta and fresh-grated mozzarella).
Fighting burrito In Ames Iowa or any small burrito joint.
Costco and IKEA are my two favorite places to eat cheap. Just about five bucks of food gets me pretty full.
In n Out or a local Thai place that averages $6ish/plate
I'm content with any fistful of $1 burgers >_> It's disgusting, really, but what can I do?
Many of the local taco shops. I have a favorite at each one, so it really depends on where I go based on the meal I want. I didn't realize how lucky I was until I talked with Wooters about the lack of good taco shops in the rest of the country.
@mikecris: Yeah. I live in a city that's predominantly Hispanic, so there are lots of taquerias to choose from. Real Mexican food is good; the so-called Mexican that is Taco Bell and Del Taco... ugh.
Wendy's. Frosties.
I usually go to Subway when they're having their $5 dollar footlong special.
I used to go to this pizza place (has since gone out of business), where their lunch specials were like $6 for two large slices of pizza + a medium drink or $5.50 for 1 large slice of pizza, a small salad, and a medium drink. Used to order the two slices on the days I was really hungry.
Otherwise, I frequent Carls Jr. a lot. Not the cheapest, but I feel full for a longer period of time after a medium combo and spending like $6-7 than spending like almost $10 at Taco Bell and getting hungry like 2 hours later. Also don't really trust McDonalds (Super Size Me) or Taco Bell (a few cases of E.Coli in just the last 2 years and the not 100% meat).
Freddie's Gyros. $4 gyros. It's so hard to find real gyros in Wisconsin.
Most of the time I cook for myself because even fast food seems expensive to me around here. However, California Tortilla, Baja Fresh, and, for a very special treat, Roy Rogers (but that involves travel).
@matt1976: In N Out has been my go to place ever since they opened up in Dallas :D
Pei Wei, especially when they have their 2 for 1 specials. Feed two for $7.
Weinerschnitzel. $.69 corn dogs are amazing!
Sonic.
