I have friends that know about this stuff, but I'll bet you're not going to get any of it for cheap. I'll try to think of the website where you find that stuff, if the question was serious.

Orion sells really good stuff:

Just about any telescope can give good results, but for long exposures you'll need a good equatorial mount. Those can be almost as much as the telescope. Definitely read up on it before you buy.

As for the second question, you can do it both ways, but usually you remove the eyepiece and let the telescope function as a really big, expensive lens.
